I can recommend the Fireside Tavern for a good meal in a pretty nice atmosphere but
it isn't the most romantic place around. The Revere Tavern (in Paradise a few miles northeast) where we also ate was much more quiet and romantic and the food although similar in price and quality was just slightly better prepared at the Revere. At the Fireside I had the 8 oz filet and my wife had the Jambayala, they were both decent and enjoyable.
There are three seating areas at the Fireside, the one in the back was closing when we got there, we got seated in the middle area, there is also the big room with the fire place and the bar.
Our area had a TV right over our table and seemed almost like a sports bar atmosphere. In retrospect I should have asked to move our table to the fireplace room which I could see around the corner from our table , the vibe there seemed much more the setting I was hoping for.
Also the rolls at the Fireside are just your standard frozen dinner roll and they server you 2 of them, they look kind of lonely in the bowl they come in. When will restaurants learn that fresh bread doesn't cost any more but generates tons of good comments and return customers. By the way the rolls at the Revere were exactly the same just to be fair.
So all in all it was a nice meal at a nice place but it didn't make me want to come back for more.
