Our trip to the 93 memorial was a delight in itself on back roads and curvy hills. The memorial is still a few miles off the road even after you arrive..The Memorial is located off a breezy Pennsylvania hillside,a former strip mining location surrounded by gorgeous green and blue. The marble wall, the isolated boulder where the lives were lost, all secondary to the calmness and reverence..Very powerful, full of respect, solemn. After Gettysburg,VietNam Wall and Korean Memorial its a top visit site..Park Rangers telling of the story was superb..You could hear the engines screaming over the hillside in the distance.

This is a simple memorial to the great heros who's lives ended here. Walking along the field where the plane impacted was a time of reflection. There is a white wall at the end that has the names of the victims and follows the path the plane took before final inpact. The ranger stated that they will be building a visitor center soon which I think will enhance the experience of the memorial. I am very glad I had the opportunity to visit this historic site and would recommend it as a piece of history and a very real part of our lives.

The park ranger gave a half hour speach daily from 1:00 - 1:30 about what happed on 9-11-01. I was so overcome with emotion, I couldn't stop the tears. I felt like I had just lost my mom and dad. The hero's that died here deserve to be remembered for their bravery! Although, I think they said that the memorial would not be totally complete until 2015, it was amazing and I am so glad we stopped.

Beautiful, serene. The audio tour is awesome at explaining what you are looking at. The park rangers were very helpful at answering questions. Amazing the thought that no one on the ground perished when you realize how close this is to small towns. The only annoying thing was some hill jack making there kids pose and and screaming "smile, honey, smile" the whole time. Really, really? A sight of such tremendous tragedy, and they acted like it was an amusement park! So, if you go, please be mindful of the solemnity of the venue.

I think they did a nice job with this memorial and you could feel the sanctity of the space. It is a touching tribute to those who lost their lives in such a tragedy.
