Stayed three nights recently as part of the Penn State Executive program. Lodging and food was provided with the tuition for the training class. The Executive training facility is next door to the Nittany Lion Inn. The inn is a first class hotel with outstanding food service. I could see the vehicles passing the windows of the classroom and noted high quality food stuffs being delivered. Would highly recommend.

Room Tip: mine was on the first floor and very convenient to the dining area and classroom. I stayed in room...

I have stayed at the the Nittany Lion Inn on several occasions, and been pleased each time. The property itself is beautiful and well maintained, particularly in the common areas. I was at the hotel for conferences each time, and many of the conference rooms themselves are stunning, with recessed lighting and lots of wood. The staff, many of whom are Penn State students, are polite and eager to assist. The room I had overlooked the flagstone courtyard in the middle of the property. On an unseasonably warm night, I was the only person out in the courtyard, and it was great -- a quiet spot for contemplation. The food for the dinner I went to was outstanding -- in particular they had some braised short ribs that were top notch. The lobster bisque was also great. The little bar, Whiskers, was pleasant and professionally run. All in all, good stays each time.

Room Tip: I really liked the courtyard view room I had.

The hotel is very noisy, you can hear everyone talking loudly going down the hall all night long. There's always parties in rooms because if you try to rent a party room, you can't bring your own food, you have to buy theirs. People get yelled at if they are too noisy at 5pm. What is this, a retirement home? The shower was cold, the shampoo stinks and there's no conditioner. Wish there was another hotel closer to Beaver Stadium. Not owned by this hotel company.

I am so very sorry that you had less than a peaceful night's sleep during your visit with us. We do our best to provide an atmosphere that is pleasant to all of our guests, and do try to limit the noise in our common areas after 10pm to allow all of our guests the best opportunity to get the rest they need. We appreciate every opportunity to provide a superior product and service and thank you for your feedback.

Perfection, except for no automatic doors. I arrived late at night for check in, and it was hard to get in the door with all of my bags alone. Other than that, we were very happy here. Short walking distance to everything important- campus and downtown!

Spent a night here on business and enjoyed a night in a slightly old-fashioned, non-chain hotel. I flew in and used the hotel shuttle both for ways and that worked perfectly. Check-in was quick, very friendly and efficient.
The room was well sized, well-equipped and spotlessly clean.
Had breakfast in the dining room and it was excellent.
Would certainly use the hotel again if I come back.

We recently spent a night at the Nittany Lion Inn and really enjoyed it. The charming Inn is on the west side of the campus and close to town (about 15 minute walk). There is a hotel shuttle that will take you take you anywhere so you can park your car and leave it at the hotel. They encouraged us to leave the car at the hotel, even on the day we checked out, so we wouldn’t have to find parking. That was a very nice touch. The front desk is helpful and friendly, the rooms are nicely appointed, the parking is convenient and it is well worth the money to stay there. The lobby is welcoming, and it’s an excellent place to stay while visiting Penn State.

Our room had a king bed, a small couch, a desk and chair and an area where the coffee maker is set up. The room is quite comfortable and clean and has a quaint feel to it. The room is certainly large enough and accommodates two easily but a little snug, but doable, with two kids. The bathroom is spacious and clean, complete with toiletries and blow dryer. The only issue is they make the bed with two flat sheets so the bottom sheet doesn’t fit on the bed. Problem could be easily solved with a fitted sheet, which would really make the bed much more comfortable. Maybe they just ran out of sheets the night we stayed there, but to be honest, it just didn’t make sense. The bed was beautifully made when you entered the room. The right sheets would have been more comfortable.

After walking through town and the campus, we actually ate dinner in the bar and had another good experience. Casual menu, with salads, burgers, sandwiches and drinks – all good. We also had breakfast in the main restaurant and that was good too. There was a small buffet, but we opted to order off the menu and it was quite good. Service in both restaurants was efficient and friendly.

Overall, the Inn just had a very special feel to it. We had considered staying at some of the off campus hotels, but really wanted to be within walking distance of the campus and town, and we’re happy we did. The Inn is charming, the rooms are lovely and it just has a very special feel to it. I’d highly recommend it.

We took our son for a college visit, and are so glad we stayed at the Nittany Lion Inn. It made a great first impression on all of us, and set the stage for a terrific visit to the University. The decor was lovely - colonial, all blue and white - and everything was impeccable. Our room had a very attractive couch along with the usual amenities, the king-sized bed was very comfortable. Breakfast in the hotel restaurant was delicious and quite reasonable for the selection (buffet either $8 or $10 if you want a lot of food, plenty of cheaper a la care items if you prefer), and our waitress took excellent care of us. Add in the location, and you can't do better.
