“Good food but annoyingly loud environment”
Reviewed July 16, 2013

We enjoyed the food and the friendly, prompt service, but the noise was unbearably loud on a Friday night. The incessant noise considerably reduced my enjoyment of the meal. Three of us could barely converse using our normal voices. While some people may like the “buzz” in restaurants, I’m not one of them. I might recommend the restaurant but only with the caveat that diners should be prepared to have their ears insulted and assaulted.

“It was a wonderful experience”
Reviewed June 4, 2013

It was a wonderful experience with GREAT FOOD! our waiter was awesome and very informative. It was a little pricey, but it was worth every penny! If I lived around here I would definitely be eating there at least once a month. :)

“The best in downtown area.”
Reviewed May 9, 2013 via mobile

The best in the downtown State College area. Very good food well presented by skilled servers. Extensive wine list fairly priced. Energetic noise level. The best tables are in the window area. RGinTally

“Best in State College”
Reviewed May 8, 2013

Visited Zola for our sons graduation, had a party of eight. I wish we had tried Zola during his freshman year instead of waiting for his senior graduation! Wow, very good service and food. Wine list was pricey as was the food but it was certainly very good. I do not understand how Zola is not ranked near the top for State College restaurants, it is by far the best we have experienced in all our many visits to State College. Appetizers all excellent, cheese/mushroom fondue outstanding. Filet entree was superb. Desserts were all great but the apple french tost was exceptional. Absolutely recommend Zola for that special occasion while near PSU.
