“great food”
Reviewed October 19, 2013

The cheese dip was out of this world. The steak and fish were cooked to perfection. We were dying to try a dessert, but we were just too full. We did, however go back for breakfast. (also amazing) I recommend this restaurant, not only to guests, but to the locals also. Very cosy and not prcy and delicious!

“A small menu, but good variety”
Reviewed September 24, 2013

We didn't order the pricier items on the menu (ahi tuna, steaks). The atmosphere isn't one of "fine dining." But the sandwiches on the second page were great value and delicious. Note: they come with potato chips, not fries. Fries are extra.
Even though there was a wedding going on immediately outside the door (it was a bit bizarre to almost walk through the reception to get to the restaurant), once inside the restaurant it was quiet.

Dear Lee G,

Thanks for the Response on your restaurant experience here as well. We thank you for the kind words about our food options and we were glad to see you enjoyed your sandwiches. We take great pride in cooking many things in house and made to order such as our Kettle Chips. We realize the location of the restaurant is not the most ideal as where the reception for the wedding was being held was where the restaurant used to be located in the 80's and 90's. Much before my time here they opted to add on and building the Down Under Steakhouse next to this area which is now used as Banquet/Private Function space. We hope that you will make it back for another game this season or next and will come in and try some of our Steak or Seafood options!

“Good Place for a Pre Penn State Game Meal”
Reviewed September 12, 2013

I have been going here for the past four years for the brunch before the early games or a sandwhich prior to the later games. The brunch has taken a step down as there is no longer an omlett station to order. Typical very average buffet food selection. Although it is still very good food. Service is good and friendly, very clean and relaxed atmosphere. no rushing. great place to go to not be tailgating in wet or cold weather. Disappointed that the team has left the hotel for another after years of staying there. Was great to see the team and coaches prior to the game in that setting. The kids really liked it. Still a good place and I will return.

I had crab cakes which were excellent. Others in party had vegetarian meals and lobster. All raved about the meals. Only draw back was we were informed that restaurant was closing and handed the bill. We were not even offered coffee, but sent to the bar

“Our experience at the down under was definitely one to be remembered.”
Reviewed August 24, 2013 via mobile

The view from our table was of the perfectly groomed golf course, then of the beautiful mountains in the distance.Gorgeous! On our plates were masterfully prepared lobster ravioli and crab cakes. It was delicious. Every part of the meal. The serving was perfect, the presentation was perfect. The service was phenomenal. Our compliments to the chef, to have seafood prepared with such perfection shows a true talent for culinary art. We will be back.
