Who doesn't like an Arboretum? This one, while small, offers lovely meandering paths through a large variety of flowers and trees. The spring is spectacular, as is the summer. But there is something about the coming of fall that I enjoy here. The flowers may be gone but the place is preparing for winter. There are places to sit, small koi ponds and a pretty fountain. We also like the large sun dial. The last time we were there a wedding was going on under the shelter. Lovely!

Visit the Arboretum. It is beyond description in terms of its beauty and serenity. And the view from the back is gorgeous.

First visit was on Sept. 1. Beautifully done, and they are not finished yet. The Children's garden is planned to open in June 2014. As with everything PSU does, the arboretum and H.O. Smith Botanic Garden are very well done and a perfect addition to everything else State College and Penn State have to offer. Definately worth a visit.

The place is like TARDIS: it is bigger on the inside :) A wonderful garden for relaxation, self-reflection or simply a stroll. A park is not huge, but is sectioned into small secluded areas on the outer perimeter, which yields a sense of privacy. It is not far from the University yet it gives an allusion of remoteness. A definite "yay!" to plans-come-true.

Was in the area for a wedding and wanted to see this while in the area, more of a botanical garden than arbotetum. Visited at the end of summer season, the perennials were in full bloom and spectacular. Lots of areas to explore, I could have spent more time. Well worth seeing if you are near the Penn State campus. I love visiting gardens but this would appeal to most people. Great view from the look out area. Good place for photos.
