This is our 3rd stay here since December. It is very new. They thought of a lot of nice things. Extra plugs in the room for electronics. Small frig and micro wave. Snacks and coffee in the lobby. Nice indoor pool and workout room. Very good breakfast. Very large breakfast room and lobby. Business center.

The staff is nice, it is convenient to town, parking is easy, and it is nicely decorated.

We just traveled in Europe for two weeks. They need to take a page out of our hotel playbooks.

We stayed just one night for a tour of Penn State, and we had a very good experience at this hotel. It's just outside of campus, but it's very easy to get in and out. It took us about 5 minutes to drive to the prospective student info session site, right near the stadium. The staff members at the hotel were very welcoming, and even though we had just booked a regular 2-queen room, we were given an upgrade to a suite on arrival as I am a Club Carlson member. Nice surprise, and we were happy to have the extra space. The cookies at the entrance were a nice touch. We did use the pool and spa which were great, and the room was spotless. Breakfast was pretty basic, but there were some hot items (scrambled eggs, potatoes, ham) and the make-your-own waffle station was popular. The room rate was extremely reasonable and we felt we got a lot for not a lot of money. We would definitely stay at this hotel again!

Stopped by my Alma Mater on a trip to the East Coast and found this to be a VERY nice addition to the accomodations available in the area. I had wanted to stay within walking distance of campus, but the accomodations that are that close to the University are quite a bit more expensive and offer only small rooms. Country Inn and Suites offered a variety of rooms sizes. We stayed in a one-bedroom suite and were extremely comfortable. i was traveling with 4 teenagers, so the extra room came in handy. The hotel is a only a few minutes drive from downtown State College, and it offers lots of free parking. The cookies available in the lobby on check-in are always a nice touch. Beds were very comfortable. Wifi worked well and kept the kids happy. The pool was small, but adequate to cool down after a hot day. We have stayed at Country Inn and Suites in various locations around the country, and the breakfasts are always a nice addition. There are always quite a few choices, and it is a money saver when traveling with a family. The only negative I have is that the front desk clerk acted like she REALLY did not want to be there. When we checked in, no one else was in the lobby, but she was busy doing something on her computer and I stood there for several minutes before she even acknowledged me. Then she went back and got her manager to help me. I would stay here again, but hopefully will get a better reception next time.

Clean and quiet hotel, convenient location near highway exit and near university. Only problem was that the WiFi did not work.

Stayed 3 nights in 1 bedroom suite. Friendly staff, clean room, good a/c, clean & well maintained pool (my kids swam 8 times in 4 days), cookie jar in lobby...yum, close to downtown.

Huge parking lot in rear...bring your kids' bikes!

Only problems...cold coffee in lobby in evening & French toast was hard on the edges.

From the moment we walked through the door to ask if they had availability to the moment we checked out the next day, this hotel did its best to make us feel right at home. Every staff member we encountered was cheery, welcoming, chatty and helpful. The rooms are tastefully decorated and the beds were super comfortable. AC unit was whisper quiet compared to similar ones we'd had in other chain hotels on that trip. Wifi worked great, the pool and hot tub were well tended. the breakfast was also tasty and varied - food for kids, vegans, eggs and ham types, and the coffee was surprisingly good. In the future, I'll recommend this place to anyone I know who's coming to State College for any reason.

Room Tip: Ask for a room near the end of a hallway and try to get one on the 5th floor - the view out the back...

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for a long weekend. We travel to State College every year around this time of year, and our other hotel was booked for the weekend. So we tried the Country Inn and Suites based on reviews, and we were not disappointed!

The hotel is a relatively new hotel that is sparkling clean in all areas. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful from the time we walked in the front door until we left a few days later.

The breakfast area was very well stocked each morning with eggs, potatoes, sausage, biscuits/gravy, pastries, cereal, fruit, yogurt, and breads. The food was kept hot, and the staff did a wonderful job keeping it fresh and stocked. For those who didn't have time to eat, there were small "to go" bags prepared with fruit and a pastry.

We took advantage of the hotel pool and hot tub which was in an area in the back of the hotel. The pool was very clean and was kept at a very comfortable and refreshing temperature. The nearby exercise room had modern equipment that we also used during our stay.

Our room was a whirlpool room with a king-sized bed. The room was maintained very nicely, and contained a small refrigerator and small microwave. We took advantage of the FREE unlimited long distance telephone calls to contact family back home during our stay. Our 2-person whirlpool was quite refreshing, and simply added to our enjoyable stay.

If I had to find one negative about the hotel, it would have to be that the wireless internet was not very good from our room. The signal was typically very weak, and the connection speed was slower than dialup. If I wanted to do any important work on the internet, I found myself spending more time in the business center which has a fast, hard-wired internet connection.

Outside of poor wireless internet, our stay was perfect! In fact, we have already decided that this will be our first choice of a hotel the next time we return to State College.

Thank you for your kind comments about our hotel! We are very glad that you enjoyed your stay, and all the ammenities we have to offer. We're working on improving Internet access by adding cables to all the guest rooms, so they can use our more reliable and faster wired connection. With so many guests using the wireless connection, and all the different kinds of devices, along with improving technology, it's an area that is hard to keep up with at times! We'll keep trying though, as we want to be your hotel of choice when coming to State College! Thanks again for your feedback!
