“Great Basic Roadside Motel”
Reviewed July 26, 2012

We recently stayed here for a visit to Fallingwater. The counter staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, with the young gentleman (3-11 shift) being a real sweety. Also, as with everywhere we went in Somerset and the surrounding area, the room was sparkling clean; must be due in part to the Amish heritage of the area. The ac worked well in the spacious room and big bathroom. The continental breakfast was more than continental for me, as it also included freshly made waffles! They were surpisingly good (and filling.) The 36-inch flat screen TV had too many free movie channels to count and even though the PA Turnpike was literally steps away from the door we didn't hear any undue noise. At $45, the customer is getting real bang for the buck!

The only con is that the door from the parking lot to the inside access rooms has no key card entry and anyone can wander in. However, crime doesn't strike me as being a huge issue in Somerset.

This is what I expect from a basic, quick 1 or 2 night stay motel and ABV didn't disappoint. As others have said don't let the unkempt parking lot turn you away. It's a great place to lay your head down at the end of the day.

Room Tip: Reserve online to get the best pricing.

We booked this hotel online which caused the reception staff a bit of confusion and time delay. They were very welcoming and apologetic for the delay. Rooms were clean. Breakfast was a typical continental breakfast....nothing to write home about. The sauna didn't work though they advertise that it is there.

This is no luxury hotel, but it was the most reasonable value we had during our recent trip to the east. We were coming home on the turnpike, and it was a spontaneous stop at the end of a long day. It was right off the turnpike and the parking area looks like a dump, but don't be thrown off. Ask for a second floor room, as it has been renovated recently. The beds were the most comfortable of five places we stayed during our trip! Another warning--what they initially put out for the continental breakfast in the morning is it--there are no refills--so if you arrive late, there will be nothing left...

The young lady I spoke to today, June 6, 2012, Casey, was so very helpful, courteous and friendly and that means a lot to me. I did stay there last year, for one night, on my way to Bensalem, Pa. and found the room to be clean and comfortable. It is conveniently located to the Turnpike and parking is not a problem.

My wife and I checked in on Thur. night, no problems getting a room, it was a direct left off the turn pike entrance area and very easy to get too. Room was clean with a nice flat screen TV and WiFi worked worked well. The staff seemed nice and it was an overall pleasant experience. The king bed was comfortable and insulation between rooms seemed more than adequate as we didn't hear the neighbors at all. The price was decent at about 60 for the night. Breakfast in the morning included Waffles, however my wife prefered we try the eat n park just down the street.
