Oakhurst Tea Room serves up good, old fashioned food like Grandma used to make. Homemade noodles, roast beef, ham potpie and yummy desserts like Oatmeal pie and Gob cake to name a few. Comfy dining room and some of the best brewed iced tea I've ever had! Go hungry--you won't be disappointed!

We've been vacationing in the mountains of Pennsylvania for near onto 20 years, making a point to stop into the Oakhurst for at least one of our meals during our trip.

The regular buffet has items including (but certainly NOT limited to) ham pot pie, rigatoni, stuffing, an assortment of vegetables, and a carving station where they have roast beef and turkey. Desserts consist of pies, cookies, and cakes - all homemade. Their other daily smorgasbords (lunch, Sunday brunch, dinner) run between $8.95 per person to $12.95.

On Friday night, the seafood buffet - which includes soup/salad bar, everything on the regular non-seafood buffet, and the premium items (shrimp, crab legs, scallops, clams & mussels) - is not to be missed! Prices run $31.95 a person for this, but it's a price we pay gladly, as the seafood has NEVER disappointed.

It's always complicated ensuring that buffet food stays fresh, tasty and hot, but Oakhurst handles it with ease. If you're in the Laurel Highlands, you would do well to try one of their sumptuous buffets. You will not be disappointed.

Don't be misled by the name, this place is not really a tearoom but a restaurant serving lunch and dinner. And, while it has a full menu, it is primarily a buffet place with mostly American food. The lunch buffet I enjoyed there also had one good Polish dish!

This place has been in business for decades and the old-fashioned touch and quality of service shows through. And, by the way, its name is "Oakhurst Tea Room", not "Oakhurst Tearoom".

For the kind of place it is, the Oakhurst is really good. Not haute cuisine but a buffet made as if someone cared. And, at least for the lunch buffet, great value. I am very glad I gave it a try.
