My husband and I stayed here for two nights in early September. We truly felt as if we had stepped back in time. The lovely mansion is decorated in Victorian style down to the last detail. The three course breakfasts were delicious (make sure you have some of Jovanna's prize winning biscotti!) and the table settings were beautiful to look at. There was so much to see in all of the common rooms..it was truly stunning. Our hosts Ross and Jovanna are a wealth of knowledge about the Smethport area and were able to show us some old photos of the nearby areas we were visiting. They made us feel so welcome and comfortable during our stay. We stayed in the McCandless suite and it was very comfortable and relaxing. We were sorry to leave and hope we can visit again soon.

We happened upon this B&B and are delighted that we did. The inn is decorated in an idiosyncratic way (stuffed lion's head in the stairway, full-sized Chinese terra cotta warrior in the hallway) that is fun. The house itself is a beautiful old Victorian mansion, and our room was the suite on the third floor, where the two-person jacuzzi and the beautiful vessel bowl in the bathroom provide welcome luxury. Breakfast was delicious. The best part were the knowledgeable, agreeable, and entirely friendly owners, who made us feel at home in their home..

After a beautiful drive to Smethport, we were delighted to find our B and B was such a beautiful home, decorated warmly and invitingly. Our suite was comfortable and spacious; bottle of wine and crystal goblets awaited us. Or hosts, Jovanna and Ross Potter make their guests feel like long, lost friends and they attend to special touches that make the stay at the inn most comfortable. At breakfast, our table was elegantly set. The delicious food was beautifully presented in three courses. When we were ready to continue on our journey, the Potters worked with us to find the most scenic routes. Because Ross is a local historian, he adds a plethora of local color and insights to local areas in the wild woods of Pennsylvania. Smethport? you say. Smethport is a delightful little town that reminds one of a simpler time, a time when neighbors knew each other, worked with and for each other. The Potters remind us of a time when it was right to relax and enjoy the moment.

Our stay was part of a long weekend getaway from Toronto. My wife is expecting and wanted a romantic getaway before the arrival of our first child. I made the bookings and not being a romantic found the website helped with my choice, showing a very picturesque home. Smethport is a reasonable drive from Toronto and located in the beautiful mountains of Pennsylvania. The home itself is stunning, decorated with period furniture along with all modern amenities. The hosts were gracious, informative and genuinely inviiting. Truely making us feel at home in their home. Breakfast was served at a time we suggested and the meal food was fantastic. I really can't say enough about the Masion District B&B. We stayed at B&B's and a lodge for our getway. The Mansion was half the cost and twice the value of the lodge and while more dear than the Niagara B&B it was more than worth the difference.

We booked the Mansion District Inn at the last minute for just an overnight. We had the most beautiful victorian suite. It was very spacious, very clean and furnishigs that transported you back in time. The breakfast was fabulous as was the company of the owners. Our usual "grap and go" belly filler breakfast turned into a few hours of pure food enjoyment coupled with conversation with our wonderful hosts. We were there sightseeing the area on our motorcycle and would recommend this Inn to anyone doing the fall colors. We felt very welcomed. Best B & B we have ever stayed in!

We just got back from spending 3 nights in Smethport. So happy that we know now about the Inn as it was a great place to stay -- very clean and convenient, as well as comfortable. The other reviewers are very accurate when they say it is a great B&B experience and a great place to visit with many things to do in the area that others may overlook. It's a restful spot, and the innkeepers are so friendly and knowledgable about the area. If you are passing through or looking for a great place to get away for the city - our extended family had a wonderful stay....and enjoyed the home, the innkeepers and the sumptuous breakfasts that Jovanna and Ross take great care to prepare to make their guests feel welcome. You'll be happy that you stayed here...
