The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort recently hosted the 2nd Annual Dario Belardi Memorial Golf Tournament which benefited the United Way of Monroe County. The event went off without a hitch and was extremely successful due to the professional services provided by the Shawnee staff. Rob Howell, Joe Manley, Vicki, and the entire golf and wait staff made our day as seamless and stress free as possible. The golf Course was in great condition and we ran 128 golfers through in less than 5 hours. The B.B.Q. Lunch outside in the Courtyard was a great start to the tournament and the Cocktail hour and dinner in the ballroom that followed was fantastic. All in all I found Shawnee to be a perfect venue for special events such as ours and I would recommend it highly to anyone looking for a beautiful location with a professional staff to hold their upcomming events.

The Inn is always full of friendly, helpful personnel. Tara Brinker was especially wonderful, as were the rest of the staff, waiters and waitresses; and, of course, skip in the brewery. I am back at Shawnee just about every season [4x per year] and each time the experience is great. I would highly recommend this vacation spot to anyone who needs a break from reality. The beer that they brew on site is an extra special treat, and they have the entire day packed with events that the whole family can enjoy. I can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: All rooms are excellent.

All of the staff gave such excellent service- from the General Mgr- Rob Howell to the Concierge Tara & also the Manager Usman & Receptionist Teresa. Recreation Director was excellent also- Sean- & there were activities which both my husband & I enjoyed that were in their schedule of events. We definitely plan to go there again soon!

We had a great time at Shawnee. The hotel is on beautiful grounds, situated right on the Delaware Water Gap and a nice golf course. The location is not far from NYC, but you feel like you are a world away. It's very scenic, peaceful and quiet.

The rooms are a bit outdated, but are clean and comfortable. The food in both the hotel restaurant and the pub is great. Loved the pretzel appetizer at the pub! Both the restaurant staff and the spa stuff were very friendly.

I would have given five stars, however I found the front desk staff not friendly at all. We arrived in the early evening and they just gave us our room key and number. They didn't give us any information such as where the restaurants were, when and where breakfast was, what time check out was, really nothing at all. Not that big of a deal, but every time we needed to know something we had to ask.

Overall I would recommend and I would go back for a relaxing weekend away.

My boyfriend and I came to this property for a nice relaxing weekend get-away. I had read some reviews about the staff not being so friendly so I was prepared for the worst. I have to say....ALL of the staff we encountered were extremely friendly (especially GM Bob, Peter and Alder). We had the breakfast buffet in the River Room which was wonderful. For dinner we decided to walk to the Gem & Keystone which is located at the entrance of the property and had a great dinner. This is probably one my favorite places now. I can't wait to take a trip back.

We stayed in this place with our family ( including an one year old baby) during the July 4 th weekend , for 2 nights. First things first - yes we will be back for another stay whenever.
Now for the review:
Location -& surroundings - absolutely soothing , green all around and well maintained
The river flows along the property about 150 meters ever so gently , and a few minutes spent on the river side on the lounge chairs or garden chairs , does take you to a meditative mood.
Rooms - The manager and front desk staff ( Mr Usman / Ms Teresa ) were very helpful and shifted us to river view room on the east side second floor , for the second night. ( suggestion - 3rd floor west side rooms might offer a better view)
However the noise from the adjacent room is a wee bit more than normal.
The hotel offers a sumptuous buffet breakfast with a good variety.
There is an indoor swimming pool with friendly attendants.
And a snooker and table tennis area and tennis etc. There is an outlet on the premises offering on rent kayaks, paddle boats etc ,
Of course the hotel is renowned, I believe for its's golf courses, but we were more in the frame for enjoying the scenes around.
And the extremely friend staff gave us a few clubs and golf balls to putt around in the velvet lawns opposite the hotel , and free of charge. !
There are a horde of activities planned by the hotel which the front desk or the concierge is willing to explain. This includes various hikes, or gold lessons, theatre etc.
We went to the falls ( Bushkills ) - one needs a minimum of 2 hrs for exploring this falls and then took a boat ride in the lake Wallenpaupack ( don't miss the ice cream near the ticket vending shop ) - again a great place
And we spent the night watching the spectacular fire works in the surrounding areas.
In short we had a great holiday made sweeter by a comfortable stay
And it is so close to NJ.
Good luck

My husband and I are golfers and we have stayed at Shawnee twice this season...so far. I'm sure we will be back. Their golf course is beautiful and well maintained. 27 holes...Red/White/Blue courses. However, Shawnee is also a great home base to use when visiting other courses in the area. Its location is spectacular...right on the Delaware River. It is refreshing to see people relaxing by the river or on the great lawn and children playing outdoors and enjoying nature. 4PM Smoores Bon Fire!! Never fear, Shawnee also has a cute game room and a fabulous indoor pool and deck. The rooms we have had appear to be newley refurbished...one was HUGE and the other was average size but both very clean and comfey. The beds are OUTSTANDING and the spa services are such a special touch. They have two restaurants The River Room which is located in the main resort and The Gem & Keystone which is at the edge of the property...either a short walk or an even shorter drive. The River Room was ok, great views looking over the golf course but the food for dinner was not impressive. Breakfast buffet there is another story!! Very good! The Gem & Keystone, on the other hand, was OUTSTANDING. Little known fact to us was that Shawnee Inn brews all their own beers right on premise...in the cellar and they are YUMMY! You can order a Tasting Tray of all their beers at the Gem & Keystone. The bar in the main resort is so much fun. At night it turns into a Piano Bar with music and everyone singing old songs together. Lots of fun. People and staff are exceptionally friendly!! But probably my most favorite thing about the Inn is their HUGE porch and many rocking chairs. Hubby and I order a bottle of wine and sit on the porch, relax, watch the stars and sip our drinks and count God's blessings. It really is a very soothing atmostphere and a great place to stay.

Room Tip: Room 101 was fantastic. We were told that it was originally two rooms and they made it into one sui...
