A group of 8 (four adults and four girls ages 11, 13, 16, and 17) took a tour of the Buhl Mansion. The tour cost $7.50 each except for the youngest which was $4.50. We were told the tour would last approximately 45 minutes. It was completed in 20 minutes. We were unable to go into many of the bedrooms because the mansion hosted a wedding the night before and the rooms were not yet cleaned. We could not visit the third floor at all.
Although our docent was very friendly, there is little information to impart about the original owners, the Buhls. More is told about the Winners who purchased the property for $250,000 and refurbished it to the tune of $2.5 million. (The Winners also own Tara, the Civil War era country inn located about 6 miles from the Buhl Mansion.)
Your best bet is to wander into the Mansion and ask to look around.
