Love this place for a quick getaway for the family. Look for specials and discounts for rooms and recommended to go during the week. Hassle free for food, beautiful rooms and indoor water park. We always choose family fireplace room because we love the warmth of the fireplace and the ambience of it. We choose the 1st floor room which is the same level of water park, pizza place and bowling. We also choose late checkout to stay longer the following day without having the hassle of carrying your stuff around.
I do wish the water in the park was a little warmer. I also would recommend more tables and chairs in the park. Always seems like we are searching for a place to put our stuff. Overall good place.

Liked the fact that there was always someone watching over the kids... felt safe. Also there is a bar and Rest inside the water park area. Complimentary towel service and vest for kids. Over all it the water park experience was great!!!

Nice idea with lots of stuff for the kids to do but everything there is expensive. Its an average standard room that should be $100 a night cheaper. Staying on international drive in Orlando doesn't cost as much with much more to do.

When the Camelback Resort opens their facility in early spring maybe the prices will come down.

Kids did enjoy the magiquest adventure but again it was expensive and unless your kids are of the age you let them run around alone then plan on lots of walking and stair climbing to help them on their adventure. Good activity though.

Overall its an average resort. Go out into the towns to establish cause its cheaper.

I went her twice in the last 5 months, once in November, at an off peak time and then I went at a peak time over Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. WOW. what a difference. I wish someone would have given ME a heads up. SO here is yours. I talked to the staff, a multitude of them and they all say the same, it is crazy whenever the kids are off of school. Crazy as in literal FULL capacity, and this place is HUGE. Also weekend stays are busier than weekday. If you can pull the kids out of school for a day or two mon-thurs, you will have a blast. The place in it of itself is clean, well taken care of, food there, usually a buffet for breakfast and dinner otherwise there is a pizza place in there too, is good, the staff for the most part is friendly. I think they were a bit frazzled during MLK weekend, it was ridiculously crazy. Everywhere you went you were waiting in lines. In addition to the 80,000 sq. ft. water park, and the dining areas, ice cream shop, it also houses a cute black lit mini golf, VERY SMALL mini golf course, almost NOT worth the money, but try it once, a bowling alley thats pretty cool and a huge arcade that we spent a considerable amount of time in. I think more in here than the actual water park, but it all depends upon your children's age, what they can tolerate and for how long. It is worth trying once at least off peak, it is pricey, but you are paying for all of the amenities as well. You MUST stay there to play there. You cant just pop in for a day. AND once you go, they WANT you to come back so you will recieve discounts over and again to go back, but bare in mind MOST of the discounts are for a sunday through thursday.

I just came back from a 3 night stay at GWL with my family (5 years old, 3 years old, and 3 months old). My kids had a lot of fun but the facilities could be better. My room was very clean and had plenty of towels but they don't give lotions or hair conditioner. The "Scoops" wash for kids was supposed to be bubblegum scent but smelled like really bad chemical bubblegum. My girls didn't want it on their body. Nice to have a good cold fridge and a microwave for the baby formula.

The waterpark was very impressive but the water was cold, not 84 degrees. Bathroom/showers at the pool were unkempt. The curtains on the shower was ripped and falling down. Bathroom stalls were stuck. Reminded me of a dirty NYC YMCA. No one showered before entering the waterpark. They should have hand showers installed so the little kids won't be so scared when showering off the pool water. Lifeguards were very professional. They were constantly watching the pool and immediately blew the whistle on people who were doing inappropriate things.

Can't comment about the food since I read about how horrible it was and I was able to smell it in the elevator. Went to the local towns to eat at Friendly's, Perkins, Ruby Tuesday, Popeyes, etc.

What I didn't like were the people who were also using the facilities. I'm not in favor of people running down the lodge hallways in wet bathing suits without shoes or towels. The tweens were out of control running around and almost crashed into my kids playing magiquest. No parents watched the tweens. At night the room above mine had kids jumping up and down to past 1am. I finally couldn't take it and had to call the front desk. Within 10 minutes security asked the family to stop making noise.

I did use the guest laundry room to do a set of laundry. Their detergent dispenser is broken (took your quarters) so I had to go to their gift shop to get it from the girl who worked at the register. Saw a family who used to pool and just simply threw their wet towels into the dryer without washing. Pretty gross.
