For years this was a popular high school hangout. I remember that the old record jukebox had "My Girl" at button S-5 for several years.

This is a good place for a hamburger (no longer 15 cents of course) or a hoagie. It is just a nice place. I don't know if it is a HS hangout any longer since I don't go during the evening.

Cheap food but expected when you walk into this place and so I continue to stop in. People are nice, food and variety are good and they are quick so its a nice place for the quick meal.

I love this place! I've grown up in this area, and can't imagine life without Hiltop! Inexpensive and fast - but very good quality food.

You're in the mood for burgers, fries, hot dogs, or maybe even chicken. If you're in the Pottstown area, forget the fast food chains. (Not that they don't have them.) There's a one-of-a-kind eatery that serves up fresh food at reasonable prices while offering a retro '60s and '70s look as well. Welcome to the Hilltop Drive-In.

They have single and quarter-pound burgers with whatever fixings you choose, and they even have California burgers on the menu. Instead of a soda, you may be tempted to indulge into one of their thick shakes, made the old-fashioned way. They also offer streaks, beef and hamburger barbecues, and the locally-famous Broasted Chicken, deep fried to lock in taste.

If you want dessert, you don't have to plan a trip to Dairy Queen either. They have soft serve ice cream to tickle your taste buds.

Inside, it is a truly unique setting. When you see album covers and some old 45s on the wall, you can't help but be in the mood to hear music from your time. They still have a juke box, but it has been upgraded to play CD's now, and has a much larger selection. Whether you grew up listening to Buddy Holly or Johnny Cash or the Beatles or the Stones or Huey Lewis and the News, there's something on there for you. Even the pink and blue color scheme is reminiscent of happy days. And did I mention, you can still play a pinball game there while you wait for your order.

The Hilltop has been a Sanatoga landmark since 1956 and the large sign out front has lasted almost that long. It's easy to find too: take the Sanatgoa exit of 422, follow the signs to Sanatoga. When you get to the light at Turkey Hill, turn left. Hilltop is about a quarter-mile on the left before you start down the long hill, hence its name.

I don't give many places a 5-star rating, but not many can beat this one for food quality, atmosphere, service, price, and easy accessibility. I would recommend Hilltop Drive-In to anyone looking for a fast food alternative. The only heads-up is they are closed Tuesdays; the other six days they have regular hours.
