Live in the area and had no idea this restaurant was in my town and what a great surprise! Definitely a whole in the wall, upside down pizza and po boy were good and the fried pickles were great!

“Great beer selection, nice menu”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 4, 2014

Our friends recommended we try something new, so we tried this place on a Sat night. First off, no parking lot, so you take your chances finding on street parking (we were early and found a spot right across the street)

Service is very friendly, but a bit on the slow side. It took a bit if time to get anything from the bar, but the beer selection was worth the wait. MANY bottled beers, and a nice selection of beers on tap.

We were given cornbread to munch on, and I highly recommend the fried pickles ( huge portion, be prepared to share) The perogies were also very tasty.

I had the Cajun meatloaf (beef and andouille sausage with an amazing glaze) with mashed potatoes. The wife had the pizza (tasty sauce but burned crust) She's too nice to say anything, found out afterwards.

Our friends are vegetarians, and the kitchen was more than glad to modify the menu for them. They had what looked like a massive pot pie filled with vegetables and spices, and they said it was great.
Desert was a nice crem brûlée, and our friends had the Carmel Apple pie, both were delicious.

Seating is a bit tight, so you have to weave in and out between other couples, but it is a quiet, relaxing place to have a meal with friends.

It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food more than makes up for some of the quirks. Try it, you'll like it.

“Worst Service Ever!!!!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 29, 2013

My husband and I went here last night with two friends we haven't seen in a while. We arrived and were seated at around 6:45pm and the restaurant was not crowded, but it took about ten minutes to take our drink order. We should have left after our drinks, because the waitress who seemed extremely removed, unfriendly and unpersonable, and acted LIKE SHE COULD CARE LESS, took another 20-30 minutes to take our food orders!!!!! We were not as tuned in as we would have been to time because we were happily chatting with our friends, but our food (which was just burgers and tacos!) did not come out until around 8:00pm!!!!! YES, WE WERE THERE FOR WELL OVER AN HOUR BEFORE WE WERE SERVED OUR MEALS! Then my meal came out lacking in menu ingredients, no salsa OFFERED for the tortillas, and my friend did not even eat her fish tacos after taking a bite because they were so greasy and bland! MY HUSBAND AND FRIENDS DID NOT WANT TO SAY ANYTHING, BUT IF IT WERE ONLY I Eating here, OR IF WE RECIEVED SUCH HORRIBLE SERVICE ON ANY OTHER OCCASSION I WOULD HAVE WALKED OUT OF HERE and demanded a refund!!!! This was no doubt the worst restaurant experience I have encountered all together (SERVICE, attitude, food quality, etc.) in a very very long time! WE WILL NEVER BE GOING HERE AGAIN!!! EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED...

“This guy can cook!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2013

I have never had a dish here that I didn't like, my husband is crazy about this place. Every dish that comes out of the kitchen looks like a work of art. Be forewarned that when it's busy, it may take a little extra time to get your order, but they are making the items from scratch and fresh for each order. There's a nice ambiance and pretty good music so with a glass of wine or beer, it's nothing I'd complain about. It seems that even their sauces are made order by order. The maque choux tastes just like it's made in New Orleans.
Best dish ever was the shrimp and scallops in a sherry reduction sauce served over the smashed potatoes with shaved mushrooms. It was taken off the menu, but if you ask and they have the ingredients, they'll make it. Great crabcakes, sausage sampler and andouille meatloaf.

“A favorite!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 26, 2013

Love this place! Nothing to look at and you might even think twice before going in, but the food is awesome! Andy the Waiter is fantastic too! Right on with his suggestions and service! The tuna steak is one of my favorites! Portions are very large and always good!
