I was anxious to have lunch at Jennie's diner. It is easy to find since it is directly located on Rt 30 past SR 896. My daughter joined me and we saw they had new specials. I ordered the chicken with cheese(your choice of cheese) on a pretzel bun. It came with a choice of side. I chose the Italian wedding soup. She had grilled cheese with bacon.
The wedding soup had cabbage in it which was delicious. Both meals came with potato chips. We skipped the chips to save room for dessert. The sandwiches were fabulous!!!
We had a good waiter who attended to our needs and the two of us split a delicious apple crumb pie for dessert.
The diner had a retro steel exterior, Inside there were military pictures but I found that each table had a flip cd player where you could play a number of songs for various prices. That's a long way from the old style 45 records one used to find in diners.
Knowing in advance it was cash only I came prepared and there also is a sign at the cashier's desk telling you that same information. Please make a note of it should you come. I love the convenience to area attractions and the old diner style experience
