“A neat place, especially for train lovers”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 1, 2012

I love trains, so part of my anniversary gift this year was breakfast at the Red Caboose Restaurant. The food was good, the waitress was friendly, and the experience was pretty neat. The view out the window was very scenic as well.

The gift shop left a little to be desired, but driving through the hotel portion with all of the cabooses converted into rooms was a shere delight for me! Also, we finished breakfast just in time to watch the Strasburg Railroad train steam by. All in all, it was a nice experience and I plan to do it again.

“What a charming treat!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 22, 2012

We thought that we would go somewhere off of the beaten path for dinner. We were pleasantly surprised by the meal that we had and actually came back again the next night. Is it haute cuisine? No, but
it was tasty and filling. We were not surprised by the no alcohol issue - the restaurant is located in a dry county.

“No good”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 19, 2012

The train car was very musty. The food was awful. How can you make ranch dressing taste like tartar sauce ? They don't serve alcohol. The prime rib left much to be desired. The pork was edible. Yeah the train is nice, but it felt like you were in a time warp. The service was okey. I wouldn't go back.

“Worth the trip”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 18, 2012

We have been enjoying this restaurant for two years now. We discovered it while visiting Strasburg. We now make the trip from Maryland just so my 2 year old son can watch trains and eat. The food is good and the atmosphere is friendly. It's a little musty, but hey, it's all part of the experience!

“what a nice buggy ride”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 18, 2012

We took a buggy ride here, and we loved it. The woman who ran it, was so friendly and knowledgeable of the surrounding area. Geronimo, the horse, was great. We also got to see the Amish in action, and we loved that. I would definitely recommend people stop by and go on a buggy ride here.
