I took the husband here for an overnight getaway for his bday. What a
lovely establishment that Maryann is running! I spoke to her on the
phone to make the reservation. (I had sent an email requesting
availability information via a link on the website. I had expected to
get availability information via that email but instead, the email
suggested I contact Maryann by phone which I did.) She was very
cordial and wanted me to let her know when we’d be arriving so she
knew when to expect us. I called her a few days before our visit to
advise her of the time and sure enough, she was waiting for us when we
She took time to show us around and let us know where the drinks and
snacks were and which doors we should use if we were going to be out.
She gave us a quick background on the old house and the work she put
into it to prepare for B&B guests. She said multiple times to let her
know if there was anything we needed or anything she could do to make
us feel at home. She was just lovely!
We stayed in the red room which is the only bedroom on the lower
lever. It was cozy and quiet. The lightning was subdued but there
was also an overhead light available if we needed a brighter light. I
love the angels that seemed to be the theme in the décor. I also
loved the ‘Hail Mary’ prayer wall hanging that was there. The bed was
comfortable and the sheets were ironed. (Maryann told us her mother
helps with some of the chores like the ironing…) There were plenty of towels in the bathroom and they were fluffy and soft. We were quite happy with our room.
We had made arrangements the evening before for our breakfast time.
Maryann had prepared quiche, pastries and fruit for us. We enjoyed it
and also enjoyed chatting with the other guests that were staying
there. We find that B&B people are more friendly and conversational.
What a great place to stay!!
