“Lovely, cozy B&B!”
Reviewed March 12, 2012

I took the husband here for an overnight getaway for his bday. What a
lovely establishment that Maryann is running! I spoke to her on the
phone to make the reservation. (I had sent an email requesting
availability information via a link on the website. I had expected to
get availability information via that email but instead, the email
suggested I contact Maryann by phone which I did.) She was very
cordial and wanted me to let her know when we’d be arriving so she
knew when to expect us. I called her a few days before our visit to
advise her of the time and sure enough, she was waiting for us when we
arrived.

She took time to show us around and let us know where the drinks and
snacks were and which doors we should use if we were going to be out.
She gave us a quick background on the old house and the work she put
into it to prepare for B&B guests. She said multiple times to let her
know if there was anything we needed or anything she could do to make
us feel at home. She was just lovely!

We stayed in the red room which is the only bedroom on the lower
lever. It was cozy and quiet. The lightning was subdued but there
was also an overhead light available if we needed a brighter light. I
love the angels that seemed to be the theme in the décor. I also
loved the ‘Hail Mary’ prayer wall hanging that was there. The bed was
comfortable and the sheets were ironed. (Maryann told us her mother
helps with some of the chores like the ironing…) There were plenty of towels in the bathroom and they were fluffy and soft. We were quite happy with our room.

We had made arrangements the evening before for our breakfast time.
Maryann had prepared quiche, pastries and fruit for us. We enjoyed it
and also enjoyed chatting with the other guests that were staying
there. We find that B&B people are more friendly and conversational.

What a great place to stay!!

Room Tip: Choose the red room and you are assured a quiet stay.

This quaint, cozy and exceptional find is amazing.
Maryann and Her Mom, were the most attentive, gracious and warm inn keepers that one could ask for. The rooms were beautiful, comfi, warm. Personal. The breakfast is fabulous. Lunch menu perfect. Maryann does it all. Yummy and Bravo to you. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your fine victorian style home and our room was the blue room...loved it...cant wait to come back...Anyone out there looking for a place near the slopes or mountains, you will miss out, if you dont stay here!!!

The attention to detail is phenomenal. Freshly ironed sheets, polished hard wood floors, plenty of clean and fresh towels, and a sparkling bathroom is just a few of the things that this quaint B&B offers. The owner asks you what YOU would like for breakfast and what time! My son loved the savory chocolate waffles, while my husband and I enjoyed fresh spinach and western omelettes. We skied at Seven Springs, only 6 minutes away. Our friends, on the other hand, spent 5 times as much in the Seven Springs lodge and didn't have that same homey, warm feeling that we did.
Our hostesses made us feel like royalty. We didn't get to spend as much time as we would have liked in the parlors and little music room, but plan on going back in the summer for some rafting in Ohiopyle. This time our friends are staying in the Trenthouse Inn with us!
PS. You can even get a Reuben Sandwich "to die for" at lunch! It has a little deli, too.

Room Tip: Pick a color of your choice!

Stayed here for a weekend trip to see Falling Water. We booked last minute with ease. We arrived after dark and after almost hitting a deer, I was shaking when I arrived. We were warmly welcomed and offered drinks and snacks. The bed was extremely comfortable (I was nervous having never stayed at a b&b before), the room was cozy and spotless. Breakfast was incredible and followed by amazing homemade donuts. We were given great directions and advised of other nearby attractions to check out. That night we asked about a cab to go for dinner. She said she didn't know of any cabs but if we drank too much, give her a call and she'd pick us up! Our visit to the Trenthouse Inn was like visiting family only more pleasant :)

We stayed in the lovely "Red Room" downstairs which was very quiet, private, and had its own large bath. Maryann made us feel right at home, working with our ever-changing schedule. Breakfast was wonderful, including the homemade doughnuts that accompanied everyone's order. We're so glad we stayed here instead of Seven Springs, not because of the cost, but the individual attention we received.

My husband and I only get a chance to take a vacation once per year so we place a lot of importance on having an enjoyable time. Our stay at the Trenthouse Inn was certainly NOT a disappointment. Maryann, Violet and Julieann made our stay SO enjoyable. We were so comfortable with them that we felt like we were visiting family.

The inn is situated in the lovely little village of Trent, PA. The surrounding area provides you with some peace and quiet and nearby PA State Parks. The Laurel Hills park is within walking distance, complete with lake and another beautiful view.

It is within a comfortable driving distance of many of the area attractions including the Frank Lloyd Wright designed homes, Ohiopyle park, Ligonier and historic places in the area, the caverns in Farmington, PA. I could go on and on. We actually ran out of time before running out of things to do and plan on coming back.

Our hosts made sure we were comfortable in every way, the room was comfortable and clean and the food was delicious!

Incredible location, beautiful Victorian themed rooms, exceptional hospitality, have never stayed at a better B & B anywhere. Awesome homemade food, group or privacy, your choice. Great location for outdoor lovers, and plenty of nearby attractions. We stayed here for 10 days and would do it again in a heartbeat. John and Denise
