"You only get 1 chance to make a first impression" and this hotel FAILED. The first thing I found was the packaging for defibrillator patches lying between the bed and the night stand along with a bed skirt covered in who knows what. The sheets on the bed didn't fit so the last 1 foot of the matress went uncovered and NO MATRESS PAD. The refrigerator froze everything and I loved the 1992 27" color tv. The bathroom was clean, but there was a constant smell of urine to which I never could find the source. The elevators where a trip as well, oh and the only working ice machine was located on the 16th floor which was really handy. I must say I did enjoy the nightly light show from the Reading Fire Dept who frequented the hotel for the scheduled nightly blowing of the transformer. The sirens every 3 minutes whisked me away to a nightly slumberland and took my mind off of the thought of what was lingering in and on the mattress. The internet was awesome during the 18 minutes it was actually working and the 48 degree lobby encouraged group bonding as we huddled together testing our survival skills. The only pleasant part of the stay was the Hotel Bar which was nice. Wyndham should be ashamed to even call this a hotel. I feel bad for the staff who appeared to be doing their best, but they simply had nothing to work with. The entire hotel has signs that say " Pardon the mess, under renovation". Don't be fooled as this is a slop job and within 2 years, it will probably be a homeless shelter.
Don't get me wrong, I don't want to be negative because after comparing, I had one of the good rooms!

The hotel looked nice from the pics and outside but once in the lobby it was freezing cold as were all of the common areas. The bar and restaurant were cool looking but the bar service was pretty bad - bartender could only do one thing at a time and couldn't even come close to handling a full bar. The room was nice size but the bed, mattress, bedding and pillows were bordering on gross. Flat sheet on bottom and top that didn't stay on the really old and uncomfortable mattress. I wouldn't recommend a stay here until they renovate the rooms.

The hotel was nice on the inside. They were painting and updating the lobby so it will be very nice when it is done. The room was clean and looked to already need updated. Over all a nice plac. Has a parking garage.
Food was good in the dining room but the menu could have more choices.
The staff was great and very helpful.

The Lincoln is a grand old hotel - beautiful and charming. The hotel staff immediately reminded me of the Hotel Babylon series characters...they aimed to please, made me feel like an honored guest and went out of their way to assure hospitality. I thought that was a thing of the past! The room was large, comfortable and clean - the walls are a little thin and I could hear my neighbor. There is a parking garage which is convenient and attached to the back door of the hotel - it felt safe and secure in a neighborhood that leaves a lot to be desired. The hotel bar/restaurant - meh...but after staying there for 5 days and assessing all the options close by, it was a decent option. I like that this is not a chain, retains some historical details, and is customer oriented.
