We chose this location based on it's proximity to the Sovereign Performing Arts Center, which was just the next block over so a quick 2 minute walk. You cannot stay any closer than that!
The hotel seems to have seen better days. It is a bit dark and could use some updating, unless they are going for a period look. But we found it pretty quiet and comfortable...very good mattresses on the beds. Linens, bathroom and all were clean and it was dead quiet all night.
We got room service for dinner and breakfast, and were confused by the 18% "service charge" (in addition to 2% delivery fee) which one server said was for them and the other said was not. So one of them ended up with a double tip. We didn't have time to go out and find food, so we got room service for the convenience, but the tip was questionable.
Parking was validated so only $2 for the overnight. Very convenient access to the lobby.
Visitors should know that Reading zips up tight even on Friday nights. After the show at PAC, which let out at 10:30, we could find NOTHING open. We ended up in the hotel tavern, which was nice with a great bartender and other concert-goers, but we'd expected a little more out of a large city.
