“Incredible experience”
Reviewed September 15, 2012 via mobile

Read about this place here. Tried it for our 27th Anniversary dinner. It is the best restaurant we have found in Pa. We had 3 appetizers (mussels, calamari, and lamb). All 3 were excellent. Can't decide if lamb or mussels were better. Staff was excellent. Owner was a pleasure to talk with. Had Cream Brulee for desert. Again excellent. Atmosphere was great. Nothing negative at all!

“Worth a visit. Quality from start to finish.”
Reviewed July 23, 2012

Tripadvisor reviewers got it right on this one. Not much from the outside, but it's what comes out of the kitchen that counts. Inside is 1960's dark paneled walls. Lighting is low and jazz and blues are in the air. The bar probably hasn't changed in years with the same characters huddled over a tall martini. Frank is there to welcome and get you to the right place with a warmth and sense of welcome that makes you feel like and old friend. Wait staff is just right. Not one of those plastic "my name is Buffy and I'm your blah blah". This person was efficient, helpful and I wanted to know her name to show the respect she deserved.

Food. Broad selection from meat to seafood. I Asked about portion of apps and was given the portion breakdown. Went with the calamari that we shared and it could have been a nice meal for one. Someone in the kitchen knows their way around a fryer. They were delicately done. Not too much breading nor too much time in the oil. The fish of the day was flawless and the seafood plate was full of clams and mussels that were so tender they melted in the mouth. Not a chewy one among them!

Desert: coconut flan was smooth and creamy. Cherry crisp was so fresh, just from the oven with a crumb topping I dream about. Another reviewer had recommended ice cream on top. I concur. Go for it.

All in all quality for price, this was a freebie. I've payed a lot more for this level of quality. A pleasant place with mouth watering food.

“Can see why this is rated #1”
Reviewed June 30, 2012

We visited this restaurant yesterday when we were in Reading, and I can see why this place is rated #1. Everything we had, without exception, was delicious. The salmon and creme brulee were among the best I ever had. Will definitely plan to return next time we're in the area,

“Spice up your evening”

Such a great variety to choose from, and everything is wonderful. I want to learn their secret salad dressing recipe! My favorite dish has creamy wild mushrooms and veal, but so many unique tastes - something for everyone!

“Ultimate Burger”
Reviewed May 3, 2012

We visited Frank and Diannah's on Thursday Burger Night. The burgers were prepared to order and truly were the best ever. The burger was tender and super flavorful. The fries were fresh and also very good. Good beer choices. The atmosphere is clean and comfortable. We're looking forward to visiting again and trying other items on the menu.
