Recommended length of visit: 2-3 hours
Owner description: The 5,286-acre Nockamixon State Park is in the rolling hills of scenic Bucks County, close enough to Philadelphia or a day trip, but far enough away for a vacation. Tohickon Creek, Three Mile Run, and Haycock Run feed the 1,450-acre Lake Nockamixon, which is a rest stop for migrating waterfowl and a destination for boaters and anglers. Visitors can stay the night in a cabin or enjoy the many activities of the park for the day. Popular activities are picnicking, swimming in the pool, hiking, biking, disc golf, hunting, fishing, and boating. Seasons and Hours: The park is open every day of the year, sunrise to sunset. Day use areas close at dusk. The park office is open specific hours. Fishing and boating is permitted 24 hours a day in designated areas. Some park areas are closed to vehicles in the winter. Contact the park office for facility seasons and hours.

After 24 hours in Cabin 2, found out it is INFESTED with BED BUGS!!! They refunded the rental fee, but so far we've shelled out $500 in dr bills/prescriptions and my kids are traumatized.

Set in a valley in Upper Bucks County, PA this state park has an 8 mile long lake, sailing, a swimming pool, kayaking, hiking, picnicking, bike and horse trails. Fishing is also popular. This park is particularly beautiful in the Fall with magnificent colors along the banks.

I've been going to Nockamixon park since I was a child. It is a great rustic park for those who enjoy the outdoors and offers a lot of amenities for those who like to just picnic in a nice natural park. While the public areas can get a bit crowded on weekends and holidays during the summer months, there are still plenty of more rustic places to explore for hikers and such. The only downside to the lake is the no public swimming allowed, although you can boat and fish. Boating is restricted to small craft, under 10HP engines. There are many campgrounds close by as well as other outdoor activities. There are lots of paved walking and bike trails, as well as trails in the woods for hiking. There is a pool, but this usually is always fairly crowded and I've never bothered with it. The public areas usually all have restroom facilities within walking distance, but otherwise the park remains fairly rustic.

Waited over an hour to get in to pool, as soon as we got in someone had an accident in pool. Staff said the pool would reopen in an hour. After an hour they announced that it was closed for the day. We expected a refund or a pass for another day as we had not even had a chance to dip one toe in the pool. All of the staff that we talked to said that there was nothing that they could do. There was a large crowd waiting around for some type of refund or remuneration and some were understandably angry. This set up a situation that could turn ugly quickly.
Offering patrons a pass would have gone a long way as far as customer service goes.
Another observation was that this is a cash only operation, no receipts are given. I am not sure how the state runs a cash only operation. Hmmm
