This is one of my all time favorite places to go! Great hiking! Wonderful climbing, need your own gear! Plus, kayaking below the damn. If you kayak here, be careful there are lots of strainers and it is a narrow creek. This park is located midway between Butler and New Castle, just off route 422 and close to 19 and 79. Go weekdays to avoid crowds.

One very cool thing about this park is the covered bridge and old mill that is open to the public at no cost to tour. The scenery is absolutely gorgeous!

While working out in this area I visited here after a local farmer told me about it. It was an easy drive from the hotel and all of the signs make it easy to get to any of the different sites in this park. I only had time to walk two of the trails due to work but they were awesome! Not that challenging but I had to stop a man and a woman to let them know there was no way the stroller they were pushing was going to make it on the trail they were headed on lol. There are some amazing views here, my favorite is when driving there are some overhanging rocks. I immediately had to stop the Jeep and get some pics, I am attaching one of the pics. On the one trail there was a really cool "twisted tree" I have never seen anything like it actually. The old mill was really neat as well. If you are in the area and looking for something fun and FREE to do then you should definitely visit McConnells Mill State Park!!

Loved the trails, with large rocks to climb and play on! Lots of places to explore, interesting history, and wildlife! Beauty and adventure around every corner, many waterfalls leading to a swift flowing river!

What a beautiful place! The woods, mill, river, and covered bridge are all eye-candy. A beautiful place for walking and hiking. Be careful after a rain, becauxe rocks can be slippery.
