“"Quaint, comfortable, family and pet-friendly place to stay"”
Reviewed June 5, 2012

Our family recently visited the "PA Wilds" to take in some of the spectacular scenery in Northwestern PA. We loved our stay! The Innkeepers, Jay and Sharen, were very warm and friendly, and made us feel right at home during our visit.

We stayed in the Maple Suite, which was next door to the main Inn. We found it quaint, private, and roomy for our family of five; my husband and myself, our daughter and her husband, and our 21-yr-old son. We had also brought along our dog, Hines, who was welcomed with a bag of special treats upon arrival. The kitchen was small but well-stocked; full refrigerator, stove, coffee maker and cooking/dining supplies. The bathroom was well-lit and supplied with extra towels, a blow-dryer, & toiletries.

The breakfast was delicious and very generous! We enjoyed the fresh fruit, fruit juices, blueberry muffins, banana bread and breakfast burritos. Yum! Upon arrival, we had been asked if we had any special dietary needs, and while I mentioned that I did not eat pork products, I was surprised when they made turkey sausage especially for me! During breakfast, the coffee was good and the conversation interesting! We found Sharen and Jay to be very helpful with directions, as well as local history and information.

We really enjoyed the area. Cherry Springs State Park is not far away. We were able to attend an awesome Star Watching Party, and we also went to see the PA Grand Canyon, and toured the nearby town of Wellsboro.

We can't wait to visit again!

Our family stayed in the Suite on the second floor of the carriage house. Ample space, very clean, quaint furnishings. Very nice apple cinnamon pancakes for breakfast. Very comfortable stay.

Thank you for your review. Happily our Maple Suite (carriage house) has provided ample room for many of our guests, especially those with children. We've posted a photo of our cinnamon pancakes with local maple syrup on FaceBook, as others have also requested the recipe. We hope you can join us during the warm summer months to enjoy the front porch with us. Thank you again.

My wife and I stayed at the Inn this weekend.
We had a great stay ,cable TV, beds were comfortable, everything was clean; and a great breakfast.
Renovations are ongoing and had an impact on us. Walking into the foyer, which has just been completed, is a "WOW, nice job".
Jay and Sharon are very friendly and were very helpfull in regards to the purpose of our trip.
The 4 and 5 green circle reviews on this site are well deserved.

I recently stayed here for a family get together and enjoyed the stay. It is not 5 star but the owners are trying very hard to offer a good product at a reasonable price. I was not over-impressed with the food choices offered for the dinner and the next morning's breakfast but the quality and care were obvious. The coffee was hot and plentiful and Jay made us all feel welcome. I will be back in the area at some point and plan on staying again. As a B&B, a few more antiques and authenticity could add to the charm. The main house has nice period-feel curb appeal but could use some paint touch up to make it shout!

Room Tip: The owner's dog welcomes you when you arrive. If you are not a Mid-sized dog fan, then let him...

Thank you for staying with us. We offer our guests amenities that so many other lodgings will charge extra for or not offer them. Being child and pet friendly has been a success since opening our doors. We're glad you were able to enjoy everything. Our Inn is a constant ongoing project. As a 120 year old Lady, she needs a 'face-lift' in different areas. We are looking forward to the warm weather so our work can continue outside and she can get her new fresh 'make-up'. Please come back during our summer season and enjoy our Victoran front porch and our menu made with fresh local bounty. We will still have our coffee hot and our great rates!

Had reservations at the Inn on Maple Street, and upon arrival for the Veterans Day Special with friends from Ohio, we were ALL invited for supper, and a super supper it was, with the special tasting of 5 different cheese cakes, with them all coming in first for taste. A very comfortable and very clean room for the evening, and in the morning another great meal served by Jay and Sharen. Innkeepers were superior, and offered more in the rooms than would be expected. Cheese cakes were so good, we had to bring some home, and the family loved it!!! Happy Holidays to the Roush family , and once again ...Thanks for the hospitality while we were there.....

Room Tip: View them on the internet, and contact owners, for opinion as to your needs.

My wife and I went there for the Veterans Day special that many of the Bed & Breakfasts nationwide were offering. We knew they really meant it when they said, "come on in and make yourselves at home!" You felt like family, the conversations with everyone was just like being home with friends that you hadn't seen in years - very comfortable. Our host never made us fell rushed or that someone was waiting on us, thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable! Some of the older vets in the area stopped by for a visit and joined in our conversations. It greatly enhanced our stay in so many ways. We will definitely go back! One of the finest small WWII museums is just up the road in Eldred, PA, There is a very good Case knife and Zippo lighter museum in Bradford, PA and a K-Bar (now Cutco) museum and outlet in Olean, NY. All are within a short drive. I can’t say enough about our wonderful hosts, Jay and Sharen – nothing would have been the same without them! Oh! And don’t forget to try some of Jay’s cheese cake during the holiday season (or just ask him about them, they are OUTSTANDING!).
