“Another option in Plymouth Meeting”
Reviewed July 3, 2014

It's nice to have another option for eating in the Plymouth Meeting area. Nice decor. Gathered with friends and had a reservation. We were seated right next to the door despite the fact that there was plenty of other seating available. The menu had lots of choice. Arugula salad we ordered to share was good but small for the price. Complimentary brushetta was very good. Pizzas were large (12") so more for sharing than for individuals and pastas dishes were tasty, although one order of pasta with crab contained very little crab meat. BYOB. Would return again to try other items.

“This one's a winner !”
Reviewed June 17, 2014

Great food....excellent staff and service.Creative Italian cuisine. Reasonable pricing- especially considering the quality, eclectic and imaginative menu. Delightful outside dining (in season). One caveat...inside is VERY noisy - ask to be seated near the back...in the front and middle on a busy evening you can't hear yourself think, The place would be perfect with the investment in a little sound proofing. Family has another successful restaurant and this one is being run by the kids of the founder that are charming, personable and dad's taught them well.

“Just okay”
Reviewed June 8, 2014

We went there for lunch. The menu looked great and service was good. When the food was served, we were disappointed. The paninis were a little burnt with too much bread and not enough filler. French fries were served but no condiments were available. A really nice atmosphere but I doubt I'll return.

“Overpriced Specials!”
Reviewed May 31, 2014

We are in town for a family event and met at Arugula for dinner. The ambience is very nice but watch out for the specials. Our party of 8 people each ordered an appetizer and a main course and brought our own wine. The specials sounded great but were a huge disappointment. We had the black linguine which was too spicy and had to be passed around the table to see who would eat it. The bass was ok but was way over priced and small portioned after fileted. The octopus appetizer tasted like burnt chicken and the artichoke which was sliced to six stems was mediocre. We had sticker shock when the check arrived as each of the appetizers and main course dishes ranged in price from $18 to $35 each. We are experienced at eating out but should have asked the prices of the specials as these were no publicized anywhere. For 8 of us to dine (minus the wine) cost almost $400 which is astronomical for the marginal food we received. Overall we were disappointed with the quality of the food.

“Food is exceptional”
Reviewed May 15, 2014

Food was fabulous. Octopus was outstanding. Service was awkwardly aggressive and unresponsive at the same time. Noise level incredibly loud, hard to hear at close range. Atmosphere is fairly cold, contemporary, not cozy. Physically, unimpressive. BUT the food was outrageously delicious!
