“Good food & Reasonable Prices”

This restaurant appears well managed, has a nice menu and great atmosphere. You can sit in the more formal dining area fir a special occasion or in the tavern area for a quick sandwich. There is also a nice porch that looks out to the patio. The owner did a nice job renovating this restaurant a few years ago.

“Great Brunch”
Reviewed July 25, 2014

Very much enjoyed the Sunday brunch. Lots of old inn atmosphere and very good food. The brunch selections were well chosen from breakfast to lunch to fruit and desserts. We were a large family group and received great service and hospitality. Would go back in a heartbeat!

“Hit or Miss, miss, miss...”
Reviewed July 6, 2014

My husband and I eat out often, several times a week. We just started to frequent this restaurant about a year ago. We were pleasantly surprised. But the last few visits have been disappointing and the food very inconsistent. A few weeks ago at happy hour we ordered the Artichoke Fritters and they were over cooked, almost burned on the outside and doughy in the middle. A few weeks before that we ordered at happy hour the Fried Calamari. It came out with a super sweet, thick, asian sauce, we didn't care for it. Asked the bartender if we could get some Italian red sauce, sure he said...he was gone for so long we thought he flew to Italy to get the sauce. By the time he came back, the calamari was cold. I believe a cigarette break was the problem. But the other day was ridiculous and we won't return. We arrived and no one was at the hostess station, but we were assured someone would help us. My question is why can't YOU seat us. Then we sat at a booth in the bar, and waited, and waited...the hostess returns to tell us our server is hung up with another table. So offer to take a drink order! And there were other other waitress! Help one another out. We sat for 15 minutes before our waitress came over to tell us she would be back in a minute, really? A manager we know from working at a different restaurant came over to say hello. Had we known the service and food would be so bad I would have said something. We ordered the wings, DO NOT order the wings! The seasoning is great but they are so heavily breaded that the skin on the wings does not cook and it is like biting into raw, fatty chicken, it was awful. Two cocktails, two wines, one appetizer and a steak salad was $70. We just had lunch with our son in NYC and it was cheaper. I think they are in business still because of locals, and regulars who don't care and do t want to venture far from their back yard.

“Charming country style inn and restaurant with something for every taste.”
Reviewed May 28, 2014 via mobile

I visited here for lunch with a friend and was pleasantly surprised at the quality if good and service for such a reasonable price. The place has been refurbished recently and it shows. The style is somewhat like a country club inside with a cozy wood bar area. We were seated promptly in the airy dining room, with nice natural light. The waiter was attentive without being intrusive and did not rush us. He was happy to answer our questions and made recommendations. The pasta was excellent and there were a wide range of fairly sophisticated menu options, even for lunch. The prices were in line for what I would expect to pay and the portion sizes were good. A nice find outside the hubbub of Doylestown if you want to avoid the crowds in town.

“Poor service”
Reviewed May 27, 2014

went for happy hour and asked specifically if we sat at high top in the bar if those are included in happy hour. The hostess assured us that the high tops and booths as well as all of the bar were included as they were in the bar area. After waiting more than 10 minutes for a server to take our order I had to go over the bar and ask the bartender if there was table service at the high tops. He said there was and alerted our server. When she arrived she told us that happy hour was not available at the bar area high tops or booths! I think they need to all get on the same page. That being said, we ordered our drinks and honestly, we did not receive them for at least 15 minutes later. They sat at the end of the bar for the whole time. The beers were flat when they arrived! Ordered appetizers and they were mediocre at best and lukewarm on being served.
If you are looking for a good happy hours, I cannot recommend Plumsteadville Inn, it has really gone downhill. Too bad because it is a nice atomsphere.
Management needs to do some retraining of staff and make customer satisfaction and food/service quality a priority.
