Is a beautiful hotel with a lot of character and history. Look for Darryl he will take you through one of the most unique ballroom on the world. He know the history of the walls and ceilings and plays piano as you dance through it.

We have a wonderful time for our two-night stay at the hotel. It is a beautiful building, well-kept with friendly, professional staff. Our room was quite spacious.

I would recommend strongly signing up for the free loyalty members benefit as we got free beverages in the morning to our room and free internet.

We will definitely stay at the hotel again if we return to Pittsburgh.

We booked our room through a discount website and got a very good deal. If you want to stay downtown this is right in the heart of downtown and convenient to everything. We went to a show at the Cabaret Theater in the Cultural district and we were able to walk just a few blocks away. The lobby is beautiful and it was always busy with people visiting, having drinks or eating. Just a nice place to sit and people watch. The room was very spacious. It had 1.5 bathrooms (although they were both were very small) which was very nice so my husband and I could get ready for the day at the same time in the morning. There is also an old fashioned speakeasy downstairs with prohibition style drinks (although they were a little pricey) but it worth at least one drink. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, especially if your into old fashioned nostalgia, legend has it that this is the hotel that Bob Hope proposed to his wife, and the Lawrence Welk bubble machine was invented.

Upscale nice...great staff...minor issue with shower drain in the room, but handled beautifully by the staff.

Room was pretty basic, nothing that blew me away. Loved the coffee maker in the room, that is always a nice treat. Also, check out the key holder when you check in...not sure if it was part of my deal, but there was an offer for morning beverage with a small surcharge. I missed the cut off and saw it too late, but if it is offered to all, hope this helps someone.

It is an older building but decked out ornately. Very nice and will return.

Thanks!

This hotel is VERY fancy. If you are staying here you should dress up! When you walk through the doors you will feel very under dressed in jeans. The original price of the rooms were $250 a night I believe for a regular King sized bed room, which I received a discount for $142. I would NOT pay $250 for this room. Valet Parking is $29 a night, and parking across the street is $13. So All - in - all, a very fancy hotel with a HIGH price tag. I would look else where Ive stayed Springhill at Southside works for $115 a night with much larger room and more modern and updated!

Stayed at the William Penn during a recent business trip to Pittsburgh. The inside of the hotel is a nice example of the elegant hotels constructed during this period. The location is very convenient to walking all over the downtown area. The staff throughout the hotel was very friendly and helpful. They also advance check-in and also offer a room upgrade of checkout at 4 pm for a $50 fee which was a nice option that I took advantage of since I had an evening flight. The only cautions I would note is that the bathrooms are extremely small will very little space to store toiletries. Also they use goose down comforters on the beds so you might have problems and enter a special request if you are allergic.
