The Omni Penn is a what a "grand hotel" should be; updated but still retaining the class and character of the age in which the hotel was built. I think you will enjoy your stay, both because of the quality of the hotel, and because of the central location in which it is found.

Well, I did book king size bed, and they did not give me that. Their excuse was that by the time I had booked, those were already sold out. In spite of that, I did have a great stay. Cool rooms... not the best I have been at, not the worst...

Great personal attention and they give free apples at the reception desk...

Room Tip: The rooms are fine... maybe get one near the elevators...

Lovely hotel - absolutely beautifully updated, the rooms are large and stately. I was here for work, but would have easily fit my whole family in my room comfortably! Huge walk in closet, and others in my group said that all the rooms are different - a very special hotel you don't come across in many parts of the country. This is a place worthy of Carnegi and the President of the U.S., even if you don't stay here, go see it and marvel at it! If you do get to sleep here, it's quiet and well insulated, so you will sleep deeply and comfortably. It was a very nice place to rest after the business of the city, a refuge!

I've stayed at a number of other nearby hotels and nothing matches the historic beauty and wonderful staff at the William Penn. For meetings at the convention center, it's a nice short walk. The hotel staff are distinctly friendly and helpful. Valet parking was both super convenient and cost-effective.

I recently stayed at the Omni in Pittsburgh and was impressed by the friendly staff and very nice room. They also have apples at the front desk and some fruit infused water which seem like small details but that was really nice! I would stay there again for sure.

The Omni William Penn is a beautiful old grand hotel that is maintained with splendor. The ornate lobby is delightful to sit in and offers afternoon tea, but is also a great place for an evening beverage. The front desk staff is professional and very accommodating. The rooms are quite roomy for such an old hotel -- there's plenty of room to stretch out. In fact, in my room with two beds, the television was so far from the bed that it was actually a bit awkward. The beds are very comfortable. The bathroom was nice, if a bit small. The light that turns on and off with the door opening and closing is a nice touch. It's a big hotel and each floor is a labyrinth of hallways and doors, and with elevators on two opposing walls, it's easy to get confused about where to go. One minor downside to this is that the floors are essentially in the shape of a double-H, so tourists looking for the view should request a room that truly faces out and not one that looks across an outdoor inlet to other rooms. The location is superb. Everything in Pittsburgh's downtown is in walking distance to begin with, but this hotel is perhaps better situated than most others as it's a close walk to the Consol Energy Center, Cultural District, Market Square and not too far from PNC Park (ballpark) and Point State Park. It's also one of the better places to get a cab, in a town where getting a cab isn't an easy task. If you're visiting on a weekend, self park across the street in the subterranean Mellon Square garage, a Pittsburgh Parking Authority garage, which is only $5 for 24 hours (no in and out privileges, but still far less expensive than hotel's valet). On weekdays, you'll save a little over the valet if only staying one night. If staying multiple nights on weekdays, wight your options -- the valet is probably only marginally more. A great hotel. It's no surprise that so many visiting sports teams stay here, as well as the Pittsburgh Steelers on the eve of home games.

Room Tip: If interested in a view, request a room facing directly out, as opposed to one facing other windows...

Wonderful experience for a business trip--but clanging heating system woke me up at 4:30am & again at 5:30am. Meals, conference rooms, & accomodations were excellent overall. Location was ideal for business trip; valet parking was a bit slow!
