My employer booked this hotel for my business trip. This used to be a great hotel. The location is perfect. But now I see signs of neglect in the building and things are starting to look a little rundown.
Here's the good: Our wheelchair accessible room was spacious and well designed (although I don't understand why hotels insist on putting towels where wheelchair users can't reach them. I had to sit on the toilet to reach towels in the furthest rear corner of the vanity. But at least they weren't on the usual high out-of-reach shelf.) We especially liked the little alcove with a sofa and flat screen TV. The room was clean. For the most part service was prompt and friendly except for the woman at the front desk who got snippy when we asked for a newspaper. Dave the bellman is especially helpful and pleasant.
The bad: On our first morning we had no hot water. Apparently the boiler was malfunctioning. By evening the hot water returned. No more newspaper delivery to your door. The paper is only available at the front desk. Wifi is free but horribly slow. Towels are generously sized but stiff and unkind to your skin. Also, the toiletries are spotty--one morning after housekeeping took away our partially used items, we got lots of body lotion but no shampoo. We had a refrigerator and microwave but the motor on the refrigerator was extraordinarily loud. Otherwise our floor was quiet.
Overall our stay was okay and this is a fine place to stay, especially if you want a place that's on the riverfront, with great views (even the city view from our window was spectacular) and close to everything downtown. But I miss the way it was.

Good location; rooms not fully cleaned or stocked; hallways dirty; front construction clearly unfinished for extended period of time; poor management of reservations; poor check in service; poor staff attitude/customer service from phone operator/valet/front desk. Clearly a hotel in need of change or it will likely close.

We stayed here through an online bidding site, and were pleased with the location, the room, and the service (very nice people working the desk). The only inconvenience was parking - we had to park two blocks away, as their parking was 'full' because of a wedding. Why they don't have at least one space reserved per reservation is beyond me - save those, then allow the left over spaces to be used.

We rented a movie in the room, only to find out the volume is locked and only goes up to 19. I can understand that the hotel doesn't want people to crank the volume, but it was ridiculous. We literally had to sit on the end of the bed to hear it. And the people walking in the hallway very louder than the tv.
