We have stayed at the Microtel each year before our vacation and this year Kumar, the evening desk attendant, would not honor the deposit we already paid to the hotel. He said they did not participate with Park,Sleep and Fly and if I paid them a deposit, I would have to contact them to get my money back. I have reserved my room this same way in the past and have never had a problem. I showed him all my paperwork and even though there was a slight communication barrier, he would not budge on the price I was charged.
The next morning, at 5 am, before we left, I explained the problem to the lady at the desk and she agreed that he was wrong. She said no one ever questioned the deposit, so I guess others just overpay and move on. She said she would speak with her manager when they came in and get it resolved. I had a message on my phone when we reached Atlanta from Park,sleep and fly saying my credit card would be credited. Shame on the hotel for trying to not honor an agreement they made with another booking company. As for the hotel, it is conveniently located close to the airport and they provide parking and a shuttle. The rooms were clean but the money problem left a poor taste. Will consider staying somewhere else next year.
