I was looking for a place in a pinch that would be close to Downtown but accessible to 79. Green Tree is a great location as it meets this qualification perfectly.
The hotel grounds are tucked away, trees acting as a thin partition between the hotel and 376. The facilities appeared well cared for and the room was clean and quiet (exception made, of course, to the sound of humming traffic from 376, with the occasional semi downshift noise). I did not take advantage of the free WI-FI, but it is definitely a perk to those who are in need of the access. Also, my room had a refrigerator and microwave! Bonus!
Upon my arrival, I thought it was pretty nice to see that there was complimentary chips, salsa and lemonade for patrons to enjoy. While I did not partake fully in the hot breakfast offering the following morning, it was nice to grab some coffee (which I find to taste better than most restaurant coffee) and a banana without having to think about it.
I was also stoked to use the fitness center the following morning, but didn't make it. I wish I had been able to, but it's also nice to know that it's an option.
Overall, this Hampton Inn is a very excellent option for travelers to Pittsburgh!More
