“Broasted, not fried”
Reviewed September 21, 2013

If you want delicious chicken and potatoes try chicken derby! Few places do broasting- pressure fried, both chicken and potatoes, plus great sides like coleslaw, broccoli salad and more! Take out and catering too!

“KF what?”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

This Chicken Derby is located in the Bill Green Shopping Center on Rte. 51 and Lebanon Church Road. Had a hankering for chicken. I started off my meal with a bowl of stuffed pepper soup, it was thick and rich and well flavored. My main meal was the broasted chicken dinner. It consisted of 1/2 a chicken, choice of potatoes (broasted was my choice) and cole slaw. The chicken was hot, crispy, moist and oh so good. The potatoes were wedges and well done, the cole slaw was home made. All items were served promptly and fresh. The chicken as I stated was hot, crispy and moist. The chicken was not oily or greasy at all.

Not a fancy restaurant. You order at the counter and wait for your name to be called. Presentation in a basket and the soup served in a styro foam cup/bowl.

If you're looking for great 'fried' chicken but without all the fat I highly recommend Chicken Derby. They also offered a full deli selection of sandwiches.

“Best Fried Chicken Ever!”
Reviewed October 5, 2011

If you've never had "broasted" chicken you've got to try it. Tender, juicy and flavorful, this is the best fried chicken you'll ever eat. I even told the owner he needs to sell orders of the fried chicken skin by itself like they do cracklins down south. For real...it's that damn good. Reasonably priced and good sides to go with it. Can't recommend it enough!
