We stayed in this hotel for one night while visiting Pittsburgh. We wanted somewhere close to downtown but did not want to pay expensive overnight parking. We chose this hotel over the other chains at the exit.

In general, we found the hotel fine for a night or maybe two. If you were staying a week, you might want to find somewhere else.

The staff was friendly and attentive.

The room was a bit small but this is an older building before rooms got super-sized. The AC was a little loud but worked decent. The cable was good. There was a clearer wipe for the remote that was a nice touch. The bed was not very plush like other chains but was fairly comfortable. The sheets were decent. Noise was minimal.

The bathroom was also small. The walk in shower had good pressure. It had a tile floor which might bother some. We did have a bit of water hammer noise when using the faucet. The towels were decent.

The hall really looked like it needed to be vacuumed. The lobby was nice and clean. We did not eat breakfast but I did get a milk and coffee. Parking is bit odd as the building shares parking with a neighboring office building. We did notice that the lights in that part of the lot were not on when we returned after dark. However, there is a police station nearby.

The local area was a bit ragged but we felt generally safe. There is a bar next door but no restaurants within walking distance. There is easy access to the highway. Traffic was really heavy in the area. the interstate and the side roads were really heavy. However, that seems to be normal.

We had a two night stay at the hotel as part of our road trip. We chose the hotel for its close proximity to downtown Pittsburgh (although the road system is very confusing!). There were no local restaurants within walking distance but the Olive Garden, approximately half a mile away, was very good.

Check-in went smoothly and we were allocated a room on the sixth floor. The room was quite large but poorly laid out. The only chair in the room was the one at the desk and there was a large empty, wasted space that would have easily accommodated an arm chair or sofa. The bathroom was also very small with hardly any space around the sink.

We often stay in Holiday Inns when travelling around the States and cleanliness is not normally a problem. However, there was a noticeable amount of hair on the bathroom floor and in the tub which did not belong to us. Also, when I put the desk lamp on it beautifully illuminated the layer of dust on the mirror behind! However, the towels and bed appeared clean.

On the first morning housekeeping came round just after 8am but, as we were still getting ready, we put the 'I'm busy' sign on the door. We went out for the day after we had breakfast and removed the sign from the door at that time. The housekeeping trolley was still outside our room and a member of staff saw me remove the sign. However, when we returned around 7pm we found our room had not been touched - we were not impressed with this.

It's a shame that the housekeeping issues occurred as otherwise it would have been good stay and my score would have been higher.

A friend who frequents the Pittsburgh area recommended this hotel. I am so glad she did! It's in a good location. I'll admit, when we first pulled into the parking lot, I was a bit concerned as the exterior of the building makes it look a little old and dated. (Not much you can do about that!) But as soon as you walk in the door, everything is lovely. A well decorated and kept lobby and breakfast area awaits! Our room was on the top floor and was a nice size. It was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was really good (seriously...those cinnamon buns!). But, by far, the best thing this hotel has going for it is the staff. Everyone we spoke with was friendly and helpful. They even take you into the city on a shuttle...so much easier than navigating the city streets. Our shuttle driver, Kim, was fun! We will definitely put this hotel at the top of our list when we're back in Pittsburgh!

Front Desk Staff Jocelyn was amazing. Very helpful, originally booked a Queen room only cause that was all that was available. When we arrived she moved us to a king room that was a good size and quiet. Breakfast was good lost of variety and even had Gluten Free muffins available which is a bonus for me. The shuttle to Pittsburgh to see the Pirates game took us to the bridge very close to the PNC Park. Had a issue with getting the shuttle back but when I called they sent a Shuttle to get us with Jocelyn at the wheel. This lady is amazing.
Will definitely stay there again and will certainly recommend this hotel.
