We took the incline up to Mt Washington and enjoyed the views. Walked around as the sun set and then headed over to Altius. We clearly were not dressed for the restaurant as we did not know we would dining here. We sat at the bar and were treated so well. The view is incredible but the food and the service is right in pat with the view ( not always the case). Attention to detail is rampant and we truly had an unexpected dining experience.
Will I Go Back? Yes if we are ever back in Pittsburgh I want to dress the part and come here as the sun sets and enjoy!!

Disappointing! Beautiful view, good service & decor, but all the food flavors were uninspired, despite being presented artfully. Really needs a new chef!

Went here a couple weeks back, and once again, this place did not fail. The view from atop the mountain, or big hill as my buddy kept referring it as, is spectacular. The food is crazy good. Risotto was great....the pasta was great ...the crab, which my brother had, was perfect. Great atmosphere. Staff went out of their way to accomadate us. Good eats and reasonably priced. We had no children this trip, but kids were there...well behaved.

Altius absolutely cannot be missed when in Pittsburgh. We went because of the accolades and wanted to treat some Florida friends to the view, which is amongst the best the area has to give. I was pleasantly surprised with extremely high-quality food, and very attentive, professional service. Their "gimme" gourmet popcorn, and bread selections will get you going in a great way, and I doubt you will be disapointed from there. In our group we had steaks, lobster ravioli and an Alaskan Black Cod, all which were expertly prepared, fresh and served at the appropriate temperature. Treat yourself to a night at Altius! With abottle of red and a bottle of white we stayed under $125 per person including a 20% gratuity.

We were a party of 8. Service was incredible. Food was outstanding. View of the 3 Rivers area from the height of Mt Washington was magnificent.
I had the best pork chop I have ever had. Each dish that our party had was equally wonderful.
