We celebrated my wife's birthday with the corner table and a delicious dinner. If you reserve ahead, you are likely to score one of the treasured window table; ask for one and be sure you are celebrating something.

A group of 13 of us enjoyed a special meal at Altius. First, you must take a ride up the Incline for fantastic views of Pittsburgh. The restaurant is very elegant and contemporary. Folks are nicely dressed and it's an upscale dining experience. The food was excellent with many locally grown food choices. Service was superb - our primary server was Jeff and he is great. This was a really special dining experience!

You know your experience starts off on the right foot when you ride up an incline (the Duquesne) with amazing views before your dining experience begins. Then when you're inside, you have more breathtaking views of the Pittsburgh city center. As the restaurant is only open for dinner, it is neat to have that view change from day to night while you dine.
Now, on to the actual dining experience: I eat at too many chain restaurants, so this was different for me, but with courteous service and something to please everyone at our table, Altius lived up to its name ("higher") for us. The charcuterie appetizer is an excellent choice with its variety of breads, meats, and cheeses. I also enjoyed my entree, the Pennsylvania duck breast. Portion sizes are adequate, but not huge, which makes the prices seem even higher, but at Altius, is all about quality and not quantity.

I loved Altius, you feel very special when you are dining there. Altius is very upscale, lovely place to go with a date or special occasion. The view of the city of Pittsburgh is amazing! Oh, and the food is scrumptious!

Anniversary dinner! Had to take an early sitting at 5:45 but they did not move us along. We were there till after 8. Awesome food - try the scallops and the fish. Actually, ask for 4 scallops and eat as a main meal The dessert of lemon and rasberries was wonderful including the "Happy Anniversary" on the plate in chocolate, i might add. Corner window table was best seat in the house! Only thing valet parking doesn't start till 6 pm per city rules. Rather ridiculous rule made by the city. So you have to park your own car and give them the keys but valet brings your car when you are done
