Special occasion? Look no further than Altius. They will make you feel special from the moment you enter the restaurant. We were greeted with a happy birthday wish from the hostess as well as our server. Very impressive. Enjoy the flavorful popcorn while you peruse the menu. The popcorn was delicious but only a prelude to the super tasty breads with spreads. Careful not to fill up! We had the rack of lamb and the strip steak. Both arrived cooked as ordered nicely plated as well. Our dessert arrived with a happy birthday wish on the plate. The chocolate dessert we order also came with a special presentation from the server. Almost forgot the view of downtown Pittsburgh. Suggestion is to make your reservation a bit before sunset so you can get the daylight and night views of the city.

Altius deserves the number one rating on TA. The food and service was beyond excellent. We travel quite a bit and enjoy Fine Dining. We were not disappointed. My wife had the Scallops & Soba Noodles and I had the King Salmon with Haricots Veerte and Artichoke. We loved both entrees. Before our meals arrived we were brought amuse bouche and some seasoned pop-corn. I don't remember what we ordered for dessert but it did not disappoint. The view overlooking Downtown Pittsburgh with its bridges and merging rivers was spectacular. Go there you will have a lifetime memory.

Great views of the Three Rivers from Mt. Washington. Altius is one of Pittsburgh's best! The combination of the view and outstanding food can't be beat. Don't miss this spot for the food, service and food.

Altius is located right next to the Duquesne Incline with 2 floors of floor to ceiling windows for spectacular Pittsburgh views. One might think the views alone would make this a 5 star experience but the food and the dining experience are just as spectacular! Hats off to the chef and dining staff

Overall, great service, amazing food, outstanding view and ambiance. This was my first visit to Pittsburgh, but my husband is originally from Oakmont and wanted to take me to Mount Washington for a nice dinner with a view. Altius definitely did not disappoint.

We got drinks at the bar while we waited for our reservation. I got a summer special cocktail, Missed Connection, which was a nice blend of vodka, fresh strawberry, lime, and ginger. A little on the sweet side, but a perfect pre-dinner cocktail. My husband and I split the steak tartare and crab toast for starters. Both were wonderful, but the fresh, lump crabmeat and combination of flavors on the toast were exceptional. I ordered the duck breast and my husband had the halibut. Both were cooked to perfection and were tastefully paired with delicious sides and sauces that enhanced the flavor. The extensive wine list complimented our food as well. We finished with the bananas foster and cocktails as we watched the sunset and enjoyed the city skyline. It was truly a memorable dinner at Altius!
