“food and a view that makes memories”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 25, 2014

We recently visited Pittsburgh for a few days and were fortunate enough to get a reservation at Altius. After a quick ride up the Duquesne Incline we arrived at the top to see a beautiful all glass two-storey restaurant that had wonderful views of downtown Pittsburgh right where the rivers meet. Getting there early we sat in the bar with its ultra modern decor and enjoyed their unique cocktails and perused the menu to narrow down our choices, a difficult task. Fortunately for us it was restaurant week so we choose the 3 course prix fixe with wines matched for each course. It was amazing !! We did look at the wine list and it is filled with sustainable or organic options which we will have to try on our next visit.

“Fantastic!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 25, 2014

I love Bistro 19 in Mt Lebanon and was looking forward to trying their new place in Mt Washington. I finally had the chance last night and it blew me away. It seems pricey at first but by the time you finish your meal and with the many treats provided by the chef, it's worth every penny. It was an incredible dining experience, I can't wait to go back.

“Great food, great view.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2014

Our large group enjoyed excellent food and great service at Altius. I was a little nervous when the wine list wasn't published online, but we had a nice red wine for under $50. Lots of delicious homemade bread and a thoughtful, delicious range of choices. With the exception of an overcooked steak, each entree was perfect. Not a cheap night out, but totally worth it for a special occasion.

“Great view, very good food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2014 via mobile

I has the gnocchi and my husband had the salmon. Both were very good. The view here is amazing. A great place to take out if town guests. They have redone the entire restaurant to make it sleek and modern. The service was very good and they do give a departing cookie!

“Great view, great brunch.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2014

Went here this past Sunday to celebrate my daughter's graduation. Great brunch. Had the cheese and berry starter, and burger as my main dish. Also had monkey bread with a peanut butter topping that was terrific. Great place, same owners as Bistro 19 in Mt Lebanon. Loved this place and will go again for dinner soon. Pricey, but to me, well worth it. Just step off the farther down incline, go to your right and there it is!
