This spectacular 40-story glass panel building and surrounding glass-faced buildings (the 14-story plus four 6-story structures), comprises the most beautiful office complex in the City of Pittsburgh.

The impressive lobby within the 40-story building, known as One PPG Place, is 50-foot high and features red glass. The building has 21 elevators, each with all 4 walls constructed of clear glass panels protecting fractured glass- amazing!

Directly outside of One PPG Place is an enormous plaza containing a fountain that shoots water patterns up from the ground so that kids can run through it to cool off in the summer. The water feature has 140 water jets and 280 underground lights!

Each winter the plaza is converted into a beautiful ice skating rink. What a fantastic setting this is, especially when the complex is lit up at night and bustling with skaters. During the Christmas holiday season, there is a 65-foot decorated tree in the center. One of the 6-story buildings contains "Wintergarden", a bright, open, plant-filled, all-glass garden environment where a Gingerbread House and Train is exhibited late November through early January.

Another of the 6-story structures, Two PPG Place, faces Market Square, which gives Market square a modern, bright appeal as you see light reflect off the 6 stories of glass plus 40 stories of glass in the background. Within the 6-story building, there is a food court one level below ground which opens directly into the recently renovated streets & park of Market Square. I think you will enjoy your visit to PPG Place!

Love Pittsburgh and PPG Place is just another added attraction. Everyone show see it at least once. As a child I could only remember the smoking air, my how it has changed.

PPG place is just a different way to be in an urban environment. From the fun fountain in the courtyard, to the adjacent Market Square area, its a great way to be outside in the middle of the city. It doesn't take long to go through, so its not a big deal. Thursdays, Market Square has a fairly bustling farmers market, too.

The building is pretty amazing and picturesque. The location is good (right next to Market Square) with a nice skating rink in the winter.

My now husband proposed to me while ice skating at PPG Place. We return every year to skate and smile like a couple of kids. The rink is a nice size, and it's very easy to rent skates. Beautiful at night when the tree is lit and the lights are on in the area.
