Perfect location, great bartender, congenial owners, O.K. decor. The fried zucchini is the best, but the rest of the food is a 'hit or miss'. The food should be better, for the price, which is a little high. They make a mistake that some other restaurants do; you can never be quite certain how late they will be open. It used to be a real fun place to go, but then, nothing stays the same.

this place used to be a great pittsburgh tradition. now it is on life support. the place was empty when i went in on a weekday nite. the waiter was very awkward. the initial fish i wanted was not available so i got the crabcakes with a rice side. the crabcakes were terrible and the rice tasted like it was out of one of those pouches. never again!

We live downtown a few blocks from tambellini. We never go there. Several bad experiences when we lived out of town, but came in for thater.

Once the food was bad, the other time we asked to be reseated as we were by the AC and freezing. They ignored our request and the place was less than half full. We walked out.

As i said in another review.

To all you folks from out of town, there are much better places. But to be selfish, I hope you don't find them and crowd us out. Just kidding. Welcome to Pittsburg and please enjoy, but not here.

We were looking for a place to have dinner before a show at the Benedum and found Tambellini's. It is directly across from the parking garage on 7th. Food was very good, service was good, prices were a bit high. Also very noisy, but it was crowded and busy when we were there. We had a 6pm reservation and were seated quickly. We were done with dinner for 4 including appetizer (but no dessert-too much food) by 7:30 for our 8pm show. We'd go back but will also try several of the other restaurants nearby.
