We (party of 5) had dinner here on a recent visit to Pittsburgh. The restaurant provides a wonderful view from pretty much every seat in the house. It has a very old fashioned feel. We had very good service as well.
Unfortunately, you really pay for the view here. Overall the food was average which doesn't match the pretty hefty prices. It is obvious you are paying for location.
The selection is good - seafood, red meats, pastas. Entrees included soup, salad and main course. I started with the tomato bisque which was good. The spinach salad with bacon dressing was okay, but the dressing needed a little more kick or flavor. For an entree I had the crab stuffed shrimp, unfortunately it lacked much seasoning and tasted really bland. My husband had the crab cakes and they lacked flavor as well.
I will say that the dessert was excellent. I had the pecan ball with butterscotch. It was wonderful and huge so you might consider sharing.
Although the view was nice, I would not return to this restaurant. Although I had great company, the food just wasn't that good. I would consider returning some evening for dessert and coffee to enjoy the view.
