“Great food in a tiny space”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 2, 2012 via mobile

Girasole's food and wine selection are both as close to perfect as I've ever tasted. Our waitress was attentive and very nice, and didn't bat an eye at my dining companion's dietary needs (vegan), or when we had a minor spill.
The place is small, though, and when we went on a Thursday in July, it was packed, and so very noisy. There were many people waiting outside (in the rain) for tables, which meant the door stayed open and the room was humid.
Girasole is absolutely worth visiting for the delicious food, but reservations are really a good idea, and don't go expecting a quiet evening... it's just too popular :)

“Great food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 16, 2012

This is a restaurant that seems to always be busy on the summer weekends. The owner was greeting guests on a Saturday evening - nothing new according to the regulars. I was also told that this is a real family affair. And true to form, one of the the owner's sons was our waiter.

The food was great. The portions weren't supersized, but we had leftovers.Everything seemed to be fresh and well prepared. The food arrived hot; so it was delivered as soon as it was ready.

Service is pretty slow, but everyone seems to be busy; so it's not like people are poking around whht nothing to do.

One interesting thing. A lot of the people eating at the restaurant apparently come often. While we were there, one of the regulars showed up without a reservation and was taken pretty quickly. One of the waiting customers angrily confronted the host/owner, and the owner replied that he had to take regulars when he could because their patronage helped him stay in business. I suspect that this happens everywhere, but it was interesting that he admitted it. He apologized and made the waiting customer some sort of offer I couldn't hear. The customer declined and the owner said "If you are going to leave, please let me at least give you something for your trouble." The customer said loudly "I'm not taking $65 or any amount for my trouble and stormed off.

I give the owner credit for this. He was honest and tried to make amends.

“Unreal”

This place is a must go. Homemade ravioli was great. My girlfriends spinach pasta was to die for too. Salad, desert, bread etc was great. This is a very loud place. Sit elbow to elbow. They wave outdoor dining as well. It's like restaurant in an ally in Rome.

“Great atmosphere with wonderful food.”

A crowded family-run restaurant in a cool neighborhood. Not a cheap meal but a very pleasant one.

The place is nice and the staff is professional,
simply I expect more in an Italian restaurant.
the food was ok at best, and none of the dishes
where really great, but everything was eatable.
