We had brunch on a Tuesday at about 11:30 and got seated right away. I liked the ambiance and the service was good. I had the Morning After meal, with scrambled eggs, bacon, and strawberry hot cakes. The food was tasty and it was served quickly. The hot cakes were more like crepes and the plate was greasy. However, they were delicious and I would order the meal again! To get to the restroom, you have to go through a little gift shop/ cafe that is upstairs. So I ended up buying a purse before we left! I really enjoyed the morning and will go back when I'm in Pittsburgh the next time!

Great spot for breakfast! It does get busy - so getting there early is a great idea. If you have to wait it is definitely worth it. Parking behind block if filled there is a garage about 2 blocks down. Cash only ! ATM about a block away.

Pamela's hotcakes are like no other, but everything at this Pittsburgh staple is wonderful. Highly recommend!

I've been away from Pittsburgh for almost 19 years and was back for a day. I was glad to see this place was still around. They were great for breakfast back then and they still are!

This 'cash only diner' is the best description. The food is served hot and fast. The coffee is excellent unlike most diners. They need to be a bit more attentive on bringing refills. Breakfast is the meal we came for. Excellent French toast with crispy well done thick cut bacon, just the way we like it. The omelets are amazing as well. The pancakes, are 'crepe' style and a bit much for the picky teenager. Short stack and pancake do not fit the description of the traditional diner, but with that said they are light, fluffy and very tasty. I will be back next time I am in Shadyside.
