My family and I were visiting Pittsburgh for the weekend. We had wanted to visit the Strip District, and were only able to stop by the area on Sunday late morning. We found Pamela's Diner on Urban Spoon. Don'l let the looks fool you. It is no frills, but just wait until you eat!
We were seated pretty quickly. Since it was Sunday, we had to order from the breakfast menu,
which wasn't a problem. We ordered,Gail's Favorite Eggs,a waffle with chocolate chips, and pancakes. We were not disappointed and the Lyonnaise Potatoes were as good as the previous reviews said!
Also, the family photos and other memorabilia on the walls was interesting to look at.

They only accept cash, and there is a wait, but it is TOTALLY worth it! The crapes were fluffy and delicious. You will not have to eat for several hours after this meal!

If you ever wondered why the lines are always so long at Pamela's its because the food is delicious, the service is great and it never takes long once your order is placed. So Pamela's was definitely a great choice for the President. President Obama even invited the owners to the White House - only in the Burg

Acceptable but nothing to write home about. The lyonnaise potatoes were good but canned mushrooms in my veggie omelet!? Average coffee, and no one came to offer a refill in the 50 minutes we were there. Would not go back. Zaftig's in Boston, now were talkin'!

Great breakfast menu from eggs, bacon and sausage to
pancakes and alike.

I'm always starving for breakfast so order waffles and a hearty
breakfast to start my day.

Friendly staff and really fair prices.
