Description: DeLuca's in the Strip District of Pittsburgh is the original DeLuca's Diner. Our diner is an old fashioned breakfast and lunch spot that has been in business since 1950, with the recent owners now operating DeLuca's Diner for over 30 years maintaining the nostalgic feel and look of the original diner. DeLuca's is located on Penn Avenue, just look for the rooster on top of our building!

We had to wait about 20 minutes but well worth it. The restaurant is located in a part of town with neat shops, delis, wine outlets, coffee houses , etc. The portions are quite large. I had the pumpkin pancakes- they were the best pancakes I have ever eaten. Also ordered poached eggs- they were perfectly made- and bacon. The bacon was thick sliced and char grilled- different and nicer than "ordinary" bacon. My dining companions had the breakfast burrito and the Moab-a chorizo - stuffed tortilla with eggs, peppers, tomatoes, onions, avocado , and cheddar with home fries, sour cream, and sauce. Good coffee too. Friendly, hard working staff. Try it,

DeLuca's can't be outdown. It is a one of a kind gem. You can't get more delicious food and serving sizes. The wait staff works at a frantic pace efficiently and they are BUSY! DeLuca's IS 'THE BEST BREAKFAST IN TOWN'.

O.K., it's got lousy, dirty bathrooms, is noisy, crowded & hard to get into on the weekends, but man the food is good & service fast. This is my husbands favorite breakfast place, a close second would be Pamela's (cleaner, quieter, but very different, although good). The eggs are super fresh (they must go through THOUSANDS every weekend) and along with the wonderful sausage & bacon are all perfectly prepared to your wishes. Once in, you can order, eat & get out of there very quickly. Which you'll want to do on weekend mornings, since it's so very crowded & noisy. Despite that & my concerns regarding overall cleanliness, I keep going. Have never been sick, so I guess it's clean enough. It certainly is an experience! I only go for breakfast though.

We've been going here for breakfast for years and it's always the best. It gets crazy busy on a Saturday, but the line always seems to move fast. The service is fantastic and their staff are super on the ball (which is what keeps the line moving. They're like an incredibly well oiled machine).

I particularly love their milkshakes, which are made with really good icecream (no nasty syup), served in a fancy glass AND you get the remainder of the metal cup it's blended in (which usually refills the glass 2 or 3 more times). The strawberry is the best and there are big hunks of strawberry that get stuck in the straw. Darnit, now I want a milkshake from Delucas..

I eat eggs nearly every day for breakfast, so I love to find a place that can make them more exciting for me. De Luca's delivers a powerful breakfast!! There is a reason there is a long line on Saturday mornings!! The food is worth the wait.
Be forewarned, the ONLY take CASH!!
