“Great place to eat!”
Reviewed August 20, 2013 via mobile

We located this place while on a trip to visit PITT. We eat pizza at least once a week at home but we have never had great pizza like this! It was awesome! The natural ingredients used in the pizza and sandwiches just brought out the flavor even more! The location is close to the major highways so it makes getting there very easy! We will be back soon.

“Much Needed Spot in Lower Downtown”
Reviewed July 4, 2013

Since the State Office Building was sold several years ago, one restaurant after another has sadly closed in the lower Downtown area. Fortunately, the casual Stone Neapolitan Pizza opened recently-- and coincidentally-- right on the ground floor of that very same building.

Stone Pizza is a pleasant place to stop for delicious Pizza, Beer, Salads and Sandwiches on weekdays and evenings, and also over the weekend, especially if you are in the vicinity of Point State Park. They have a cozy outdoor patio, as well as plenty of indoor tables. The Staff is very friendly, and efficient, especially considering all those endless Pizza combinations they have to keep straight. The Service is really FAST if you are in a hurry. Recently I hosted a Picnic at Point State Park, and they managed to get our 8 Pizzas out to us in less than 25 minutes. Unbelievable!

The secret is an authentic Italian Pizza Oven which cooks the handmade pies to tender perfection in 2 minutes or less. You basically create your own pie here, with many options as to toppings (usuals like pepperoni, but also somewhat quirkier choices like artichoke hearts and capers); bases, like tomato or white sauce; and, finally, choice of oil, including garlic or extra virgin olive oil. I've had 3 personal Pizzas here myself, and all were very tasty. Prices are also remarkably reasonable with their popular "Margherita" (tomato base, cheese and fresh basil pie) coming in under $6.00 each. Be warned, though, these are not huge pies; one is probably sufficient size to satisfy a single guy, or two women.

You can always order a sandwich if Pizza isn't your thing. I like the "Venice" which is turkey breast with provolone; a huge tasty Italian roll makes this another great value @ just $5.99. Salads are fresh, again with imaginative combinations available. Their fresh Mozzarella and Basil here are just tremendous, so be sure to add them to everything you order!

Highly recommended for Dining and People-Watching.

“Tasty Pizza”
Reviewed May 21, 2013

We picked up a Groupon Deal for a shared salad, two margherita pizzas and two fountain drinks. It was a cheap Sunday lunch for us. It appears that Sundays is not a busy day for this place as we arrived around noon were the only customers at the time, and only another couple came in just as we were leaving.

The salad was a reasonable salad. Nothing special. The pizzas were delicious with a nice thin crust and tasty sauce.

My wife and I went for dinner lastnight and it was great. The atmosphere was great, and we sat outside an enjoye a wonderful meal. We ordered the margerita pizza and it came out perfectly, like we were back on our honeymoon in Italy. The service was great and I definitely would go back.
