Pamela's Restaurants are located throughout the city. I've been to at least 3 of them, The Strip District-21st St, Mt Lebanon ( south hill suburb- West Liberty Ave) and Oakland. The pancakes here are large and crepe like- thin. They must have high heat on the griddle because they are always nicely browned/ caramelized and delicious. My favorite is the blueberry pancakes that they role like a blintz with a sour cream filling and top with blueberries.
My husband goes for the corned beef hash and eggs. The coffee could be improved- too weak for us. The lunch salads are all very good. The restaurants are decorated in a classic 50's dinner style and the sound of happy dinners can be heard throughout.

I know this place is a popular Pittsburgh breakfast spot, even our President went there, but I just don't get it. It is not that good. The food is very average in my opinion and the bacon is down right frightening. I may feel differently if it was dirt cheap (then you get what you pay for, including the dirt), but it is not. Price and quality aside, the most annoying thing about this place is that you are so crowded in, you might as well be sitting on the lap of the person next to you. I just don't get it, but then again, people around here like Permanti's too, but that'a another subject.

The food at Pamela's is delicious! We drive down to Pittsburgh just to have breakfast some weekends. The crepe pancakes so lovely with their crispy edges and I love the Chorzio sausage with potatoes and eggs. Don't miss having a lovely little breakfast at this quirky little place, I swear some of the pictures on the wall are my family.

when i hear people going off about deluca's i always step in and point out that Pamela's is MUCH better and a better deal ...
pres obama famously dined there years ago and loved it and then later on, flew the cooks to D.C. to cook breakfast for some event ... if that's not a seal of approval, i don't know what is .
only negatives are the cash only policy (god i hate that) and the long wait to be seated times on weekends ...
