While on a vacation in Pittsburgh, my husband and I came here on the morning of July 4 as it was one of the only attractions open on the holiday. We got there as the gates opened at 9:30am and it was a great time of the day as most of the animals were awake and moving around. The zoo had a diverse amount of animals, the habitats were large and well-kept and the surrounding areas were done in really fun, creative ways that enhanced the experience. We got to see everything from baby tigers and gorillas, to a polar bear swimming to a set of elephants. The aquarium is included in your admission to the zoo and is not to be missed. They housed an extensive collection of fish and had other exotic sea life such as jellyfish and a blue lobster. The zoo is well worth the money - it has free parking and took about two hours to tour. Come here on your next trip to Pittsburgh!
