“Love the zoo!”
Reviewed January 15, 2013

The habitats are great and very natural--though in making them natural, there are sometimes limited viewing areas and the animals might be well-camouflaged. The most talked-about exhibit would be the Arctic/polar bear area where you can walk in a glass tunnel underneath where the bear swims. However, in the several times I've been through there, the bear isn't swimming. No worries, there are better exhibits in my opinion.
If you have kids, keep an eye out for the meerkats where your child can crawl through a tube and view the meerkats inside their space. It's really cute and a great photo-op.
The staff at the zoo is extremely helpful. Feel free to talk to them and ask them questions--they know the best places/times to view each animal. Also, timing is everything here! During the late-morning/mid-afternoon on weekdays there are a lot of kids with parents, which means stroller traffic for the rest of us. Without kids, go right at opening in the early fall when it's cool--the animals are out and about and the crowds are thin!

They have a great assortment of animals there. You could go for hours, several times a year. I like how it's set up.

“Great landscapes”
Reviewed January 7, 2013

We LOVE the zoo! It's nice to see the animals in an outdoor setting, rather than pacing back and forth in a cage. The meerkats are neat, and the stingray pool is pretty awesome, you can crawl through both of those!
