Took kids ages 1, 4 & 6, Obviously a lot of the museum is over their heads, but there was plenty here for them. Love the special area for the little ones - very creative and engaging. We even got a great new recipe for my collection at the "Fruit Flambe" demonstration where they were super sweet with the little ones and hung around to chat with folks afterwards. Two big thumbs up!

Very impressed with the quality of the Carnegie museums. I have visited a number of science centers throughout the US, but this is one of the best. Surprising find in Pittsburgh! There are four floors of a variety of exhibits. The fourth floor is totally interactive with activities for a variety of ages. My kids have loved to play with the water for years. The classic train scene has been moved to the Carnegie. You can also enjoy an IMAX, planetarium show, and laser show. Although the IMAX is the most popular, the laser shows are fun. The "Sky Above Mister Roger's Neighborhood" is great show for all ages. A must see if you are traveling to Pittsburgh.

This place was awesome. On the first floor there were various large size surgery simulations you could perform. We attended an ice cream making seminar, played with a life size robot, and pet a neat lizard. We also went to a laser light show where the lasers danced to Lady Gaga and we went to an Imax documentary Born to Be Wild. All of these are the highlights but everything was awesome.

Great fun and learning. My 4 year old loves the water table play area on the top floor. The mimiature train exhibit is a must see for train lovers, it is huge and has so many tiny moving details (like tree swings and an amusement park). The hands on robotics floor is fun for all ages. We go a few times a year, and feel so lucky to have such a neat, educational, fun place that will grow with out kids since different areas appeal to different ages. The planetarium and Omnimax theaters are great too.
