Caviat: I don't have little kids any longer. If I did, this might have been a fun event. However, my rather sophisticated daughter, 15, advised me that a science museum involves hoards of noisy kids racing to exhibits press buttons and spin wheels. She was oh-so-right. So, if you go, in summer like we did, be prepared to zillions of daycampers running to a booth to be the first to spin a wheel or press a button. They won't stop until the thrill of keeping other campers away from the exhibit is over. I looked around, and there wasn't much learning going on, just a lot of spinning and pushing. Sorry this is such a downer review...

We went here with our 14 year old cousin who really likes science. The displays are interesting and informational. It's a good value because your admission fee includes a tour of the submarine and rides/activities in the building next door. The kids/teens can get out the last of their energy climbing an indoor rock wall, cycling across a beam 20 feet off the floor, or playing various games.

We were not impressed at this at all. I don't know how ANYONE can justify the cost, with or without children. Certainly, this place is NOT for adults. The robots were cool. The guitars were cool. The only reason this is not getting "terrible" is because of the train set. That was actually really cool. The 4th floor was completely stupid. The "earthquake machine" was absolutely a joke. WAY TOO MUCH $$ for nothing more than a play room.

This place really exceeded our expectations - the kids especially enjoyed the Sportworks Center next door - try to buy your wristbands and then head there first to beat the crowds. The submarine far exceeded our expectations - was very interesting and kids wanted to do twice. We spent two days there and never made it to the 3rd or 4th floors - gives us something to look forward to next time we visit!!
